1996 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 extra cab pickup long box (8’). Heavy duty driveline package, turbo diesel motor, excellent commercial grade tires with less than 5% tread wear; Firestone RideRite load leveling system; 2” trailer receiver and brake; pushbutton 4wd with upgrade axle lock; upgrade cab mounted PMD; SLE package (power mirrors and seats, premium sound system, etc). Good upholstery; independent front suspension; overhead console in cab. Lumber rack with built in “headache” screen; trailer wiring and camper electrical receptacle; custom aftermarket switch bank to control custom backup lights and other accessories you may add (see pic). Overhead console. An extremely smooth ride and capable truck! Condition: Mechanical: Truck was given a clean bill of health from the best diesel mechanic in the county. Only problem found is that driver’s side battery (truck uses dual batteries) is beginning to fade, but it still works so I leave replacement of that battery to the buyer (passenger battery tested out fine). The truck starts right up, runs GREAT! Once in a while the Auto tranny will do a shift that isn’t smooth. This has been the case from the beginning, mechanics tell me it’s not a problem and is normal for this vehicle. There is some normal seeping of fluids, nothing that needs attention or that is unusual for a vehicle of this vintage. Exterior: There is one dent on the passenger side rocker panel (see pic), a small dent in rear bumper on passenger side (see pic), some missing paint on fender flares (see pic) and some small misc dings or scratches as expected from a truck this age. There is no rust on the body and minimal occasional superficial rust on frame, this truck has been kept in a dry climate where winter roads are treated with cinders instead of salt. The plastic bed liner has a hole. Vented 5th wheel style tailgate (see picture). OEM tailgate is included in sale, it is dented but still works but needs a latch. Excellent Firestone tires are almost new! Interior: Upholstery has been protected with seat covers all along so OEM upholstery is sound. There is a hole in the driver seat cover (see pic) but the OEM upholstery underneath is sound and undamaged. No center console. There are random mud stains on the carpet; some scratches/finish blemishes on interior plastic surfaces, some of the stereo knobs for balance and tone have cracks. Windshield is perfect, no dings or cracks. Upgrades: Truck has upgrades. The first is the “posi-lock” front wheel locker that allows you to manually lock the wheels from inside the cab (the factory locker is known for failing at the worst possible times). The second is the relocation of the “black box” to a heat-sink inside the cab which keeps it cool for better longevity. (It’s mounted out of the way and is best not to go out of your way to touch this when the truck has been running, it still gets pretty warm.) Third is Firestone RideRite load leveling suspension in the rear, which provides much better performance when truck has a heavy load. Transaction details/terms: The truck has a clean title and current registration (California buyers, this vehicle is exempt from California smog certification.) The vehicle must be picked up within 30 days of auction closing or the vehicle will be moved for storage at buyer’s expense. This will ensure ease of vehicle retrieval if we get big storms/massive snow accumulations (I do not live on a county-maintained/cleared road). I purchased this vehicle used in 1999.
