Vehicle Detail
Selling a 1971 Jeep CJ-5 4 x 4. Rust free and very modified. It is equipped with a fantastic running Ford Mustang GT 302 V8 and an Edelbrock carb. That is mated to a Ford Bronco C4 Automatic transmission with a new long stick Lokar shifter for a more original look. That is connected to an Advance adapter unit which is connected to the original Dana transfer case, which was rebuilt but still needs a bearing replaced. The Jeep has lock out hubs and some pretty big gears in it as it was setup for offroading before I got it. I am not absolutely sure on the gear ratio's but 4.87's was thrown around when I bought it. It has a 4 inch spring and shackle lift with newer shocks. The steering column is a new Flaming River tilt keyed column with a Mahagony steering wheel. The wheels and tires are as follows, the tires have about 100 miles on them and are brand new Firestone Indy 500 for an old school rat rod look. The wheels are original Jeep wheels that have been widened to 8" and powder coated red. When I got the Jeep it was sporting 35" Mudders. As far as the rest of the driving part of the Jeep goes, the brakes work great and are manual, steering is power, exhaust is hand made and sounds incredible! This Jeep starts right up stays cool with an aluminum radiator and a thermostatically controlled electric fan. The motor is dressed up with Ford motorsport valve covers, air cleaner and plug wires. There is a high energy Mallory ignition with a new battery. So some of the extras are, an original vintage half top with doors that have roll up windows. I do have put it is not pictured is an original roll bar. There is 4 inch racing seat belts and the original seats have new covers on them. There is vintage headlight visors and a wacky 50's style hood ornament that works great for lifting the hood! At this time there is no stereo in it but the dash has been modified to except one. The CJ has no rust, floors are super solid, tailgate is a replacement and rust free, The cowl is clean, front fenders are good as is the hood and grille. Windshield is great but the windshield glass that's in there is not the right one but functions properly. All the lights work as do the wipers. The wiring is a painless wiring system that was never hooked up correctly. So some gauges work others don't. The heater was pulled out of this as I never drove it in bad weather but I do have the unit. So that is kind of it, I am looking to sell this before I have to commit to storing it for the winter. shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but i can definitely help with that. I have a transport company I have worked with before that can get the truck anywhere in the country for a decent price. Thanks and of course the truck is open for inspection.
