My mom bought this car in '78 from Phil Smart in Seattle. It has lived in western WA its whole life, so no salt exposure. Mom just went to an old folks' home, so I'm selling the car for her. I've driven the car occasionally over the past year. It starts immediately, steers tight, stops right. No driving issues. Maintains proper temp, no smoke, no rattles. All electrical items work. My sole complaint is the driver's seat could stand some new padding, and there are various minor cosmetic flaws. The car has been garaged since by mom bought it. She loved this car and took very good care of it. There's a file folder of service records my mom kept that's an inch-and-a-half thick. Basically, whenever it went 3000 miles, she took it to the local garage for an oil change, and when she had any concerns, she took it in to have whatever it needed done. Aside from that, there seems to be no deferred maintenance on this car. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. It's currently on Orcas Island, but mom used to drive it down to my house in Seattle several times a year. My policy: Buying cars online is hard. I've bought and sold several. If you win this auction and are disappointed with the car for any reason when you see and drive it, you don't have to buy it and you can have your deposit back. No negative feedback, no hard feelings. The fault will be mine for failing to describe the car accurately.
