Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1974 Triumph TR6. Probably one of the coolest 2 seater British sports cars ever made. I have owned it for 10 years and I think I am the 3rd owner. . I have not driven it for probably the last 5 years. A few years ago it got beat up by hail. Lots of dimple-dents, especially on front hood and rear trunk lid. Has Michelin tires with the red line, including the spare. Chrome is pretty good . I have a new dash top cover to be installed by you. A new set of Shadow Blue (light blue) carpets, to be installed by you. A new light blue convertible top to be installed by you. I re-veneered the wood dashboard (very pretty) to be reinstalled by you. Nice wheel beauty rings. The brake cylinders probably need kits (easy job). The clutch master and slave need kits. The seat back side wings will need some new foam......pretty easy if you know how to do that. I have not started the engine for at least five years but before putting it to bed I made sure the oil was fresh, fogged the cylinders and the antifreeze was strong and I'm sure it will need the carbs cleaned, maybe valves adjusted and old gas in tank replaced. The TR6 will need the hail dents popped out or skimmed with body putty, plus it has a normal amount of "door dings"/scratches/etc. Let me know if you'd like close-ups of certain areas. The undercarriage has surface rust from sitting for so long. I'm sure the dual carbs will need cleaning and oiling before it will start. If you look at my eBay ratings you'll find I am very honest about things I sell. I am selling because I have grown old and tired (really) and will never get around to finishing it. I paid $3500.00 for it 10 years ago and have spent a lot of money for the items that need replacement (top, carpets, wood dash, dash top. I taped off the windshield in anticipation of a repaint. The drivers seat bottom has some discoloring in a spot or two. $500.00 deposit will be due within 24 hours of sale end and the balance with 10 days and must be picked up within two weeks. Don't bid unless you have the money. I reserve the right to cancel bids from buyers with no ratings or any negative ratings. The original shadow-blue convertible top boot is very nice. The original black toneau cover is very nice . Includes 2 sets of original keys.On Oct-17-14 at 22:42:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a little more information: you will have to bring a trailer to haul it home. The engine is not stuck but I have not attempted to start it for about five years. I am not aware of any problems with the engine, and would tell you if I knew of any problems. It is a project car. The convertible top frame was removed for sanding and painting. The dashboard was removed for refinishing but I have wires labeled so you will know what goes where. The carpeting and seat belts were removed in preparation of re-carpeting. There are odds and ends to replace after repainting. I have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks.......please ask questions. Jim
