0 0 1 451 2577 Kaiser Permanent 21 6 3022 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Very original truck. I am the 3rd owner of this truck. I have had it about 5 years. Bought it in unrestored condition from San Antonio Texas. The last owner bought it with 20K miles from the dealer. So yes, I am sure this truck only has the 82K miles on it as is on the odometer. Just loved the patina on this original paint and original motor truck. As you will see from my pictures, I have attempted to repair but not replace anything on the truck. This project was done simply to occupy my free time. I never cut corners on the repairs I made. Not sure why it is now on ebay other than I have since refurbished a 1955 truck and don’t seem to drive this 1964 much now. Body: Long and wide. No rust. No evidence of any repaint. No bondo. Many bumps and dents along the sides of the beds but only giving it character. Front bumper is original, back is from the1960s. I paid more for it rather than have a new one. Chrome is all presentable and polish able but not perfect. Has a very unique spotlight which was an option at the Chevrolet dealer in the day. Spotlight works as well. I also have some of the stainless extras in the original chevy packaging for the sides but never swapped it out as I like the patina look. Front window is new. Rubber in front and back is new. All windows roll up and down nicely. No cracks in windows. Interior: I believe original seat. Covered with a blanket because it is a goner. Original everything. Deluxe model with all the stainless and the upscale steering wheel. Everything is worn, some surface rust, I love it the way it is. Updated stereo with new speakers under the dash as it came. Dash is not cut, got the stereo that fits to the hole. All gauges work fine. Added the standard 3 for oil pressure, temp, and amps as this year only had indicator lights. New rubber mat. New stainless moldings on the floor. No rust in the hinges. Motor: 250 straight 6. Never been rebuild. Runs perfect. Have driven it 3K miles since I have had it and have never been stranded. Took it out of the truck in 2010 for cleaning and general cleanup of the engine compartment. Items replaced include: radiator, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, all the gaskets, rubber motor mounts, battery, heater core, all the hoses, generator rebuilt. Does need an exhaust pipe, currently ends just aft the muffler (Never bothered me). Does not smoke. Does need an extra quart of oil every few tanks. Does not leak significantly. Transmission: Original 3 speed on the column working perfectly. Brakes: Original drum all four, working perfectly. Tires placed by me onto the original rims (original painted body color) still like new, even have the same new tire on the spare (over 200$ each). Hub caps purchased for about 250$ also correct for the period. Bed: done by me and not to look new. Pine kit, new strips and hardware. Stained the wood to look dusty and worn. Painted the strips flat black. You will notice that when I had the bed off I cleaned the back of the frame completely down to bone and recoated everything with ZERORUST frame paint. I did the same up front where possible. Did have a little welding done for the bed as there was a small amount of rust in the mounting areas. Primed and painted anything redone. None of this is visible. I really love this truck. It has exactly the look I like in an old Chevy. A few time as I have driven home a cop has followed me into the neighborhood to see what I was up to in this beater truck. A true survivor and yes… Turned 50 years old this year.
