If you're looking for a CB550 to convert into an awesome Cafe/Bobber/Brat/Whatever this is not the bike you're looking for. But go ahead and give me a holler, I know a guy that can hook you up with exactly the project machine you need. This bike is perfect just like it is. It's a real survivor. Spent too many years sitting in one garage or another, neglected, ignored. But it's been resurrected and is ready to hit the streets. First off, the obvious visible stuff. The bike is almost entirely original in appearance except for the pipes. It does have the patina you'd expect in a 41 year old motorcycle. The paint is in really nice shape. The odometer shows just shy of 15,000 miles, I have no way of knowing if that's accurate. Mechanically this bike needs NOTHING. And by that I mean you'll need to keep pouring gas in the tank and that's it. Tires are new, wheels trued and balanced. Front brake caliper rebuilt, new seal, new piston. New fork seals and fork oil, new steering stem bearings. Carbs were cleaned and rebuilt, full tune up, valves adjusted, new plugs, new Dyna ignition coils and NGK spark plug caps. New battery. Oil and filter changed. If you buy this bike you'll be able to ride it until the snow flies and not need to do a damn thing to it. If you put it away right (Sta-bil in the gas, store it indoors, take the battery out and hide it under your kitchen sink, charge it once a month) you'll be able to ride it all next year too because it's a freakin' Honda that was sorted out by one of the best (if not THE best) motorcycle mechanics in the Chicago area. Clear title in hand. I will transport the bike to anywhere within 50 miles of downtown Chicago for free but it's up to you to make any shipping arrangements.
