The concept was approved by Toyota and executed in collaboration between long-time Toyota dealer Safro, whose son John is known as the authority on the model, and Winnebago Industries, Inc. Based on the Hilux 4x4 Pick up, the Trekker was outfitted with a fiberglass rear body and extra seating to appeal to the SUV market, and was quite a success with over 1,500 units sold. The Trekker was also, forgive the play on words, the forerunner to Toyota’s wildly successful 4Runner that was introduced in 1984. No major body damage of any kind (according to Carfax it has never been in a wreck) Windshield is cracked see details (new ones are available for $92) Bottom of driver's fender has been cut (see pictures) Bottom of passenger’s fender has rust starting (see pictures) Passenger door jam and door have some rust (see pictures) nothing terrible at all for the age of the truck Paint has a light shine to it, I tried to show the paint quality the best I could. To make this a show truck or restoring truck I would recommend repainting it completely. Top has one crack in it near the rear glass hinge see picturesRear glass rubber molding needs replaced Interior: Tan Patterned interior Overall the interior is in very good shape for the age of the vehicle Carpet and front and rear seats are in great condition, only small tear/wear is on passenger’s seat. Previous owner installed aftermarket radio and cut the factory Toyota bezel to make it “fit” although it does not fit well.
