Vehicle Detail
Hi, I am selling a 1999 Lexus GS400 as a project/parts car. The car was a daily driver until around December of 2013. I bought another vehicle and this vehicle wasn't used since then. I was going to use this as a summer car but I rather use the parking space now. Unfortunately, from my previous experience, it is never good for a car to sit so long (especially at this age), thus I am selling this car as a project/ parts car and will need some work to get this back on the road. I have the clear title in hand. I have never been into any accidents in this car. The car has about ~170-180k on the odometer. Can confirm once I have the battery charged back up (electronic gauge cluster). I put in a brand new battery when I decided to store this car. It has drained out from sitting, but I'm positive the car will start once I have it recharged. The car was well maintained when I owned it. Oil changes, fluid changes and routine maintenance on schedule. The car has: A/C (used it last summer) HID headlights Navigation system stereo system with the factory subwoofer and 6 disc CD changer KN Intake Stainless Steel axle back exhaust 17 wheels from a 3rd Gen Lexus GS Led Taillights Leather Seats (heated/power/memory fronts) Sunroof. Now the bad items I'm aware of: The paint is overall in excellent condition, no rust bubbles I can see. But there are two spots on the left rear quarter where the clear has pulled away from the basecoat and is bubbling up. There is a paint chip on the rear window molding. Some trouble spots of the clearcoat on the roof. The clear faded off the plastic side mirrors. And the rear spoiler needs to be repainted. The shift lock solenoid doesn't work in the gear shifter (diagnosed by the local shop). Will need to hit the overide to engage into gear. I have purchased another shift module, but didnt have the time to put it in (but will include it for the buyer). The tires are completely worn and will need replacing. There is paint chipping/ bubbling on the wheels (most likely from the harsh New England winters). Hood latch seems to be problematic. The cable may need to be lubed up. The driver seat is a bit worn as well as the steering wheel cosmetically (please see photos). During the spring of 2013, the ECM went on this car. I had the a local shop (that deals in electricals) put in a new one. The car was running great until I decided to store it for the winter. My family took the car for a spin during this spring and stated the car didnt seem to drive at full power. It could be because the battery was low from storage. Not sure if it's a related electrical problem, but just wanted to disclose this just in case. ***the engine picture shows it without the cosmetic plastic engine cover, but it will be put back on. I am missing the fuse cover near the battery. Also the gauge cluster bezel will be replaced back with the original style bezel. The car will most likely need a good car wash as well. I'm open to having it transported away, but the buyer will have to pay for that. Thanks for looking!
