Vehicle Detail

Alright guys this might be a long description so bare with me. I've not owned this car very long maybe just a year and I really don't need to sell but I've invested a large sum of money recently and I'd like to get some of that back as I won't know if it's gonna work out for the best or not for over a year. I bought this car last November and the previous owner had owned it for I believe 10+ years. He bought the car when he was 18 while in service and he's the one that had the majority of the restoration done to the car. It's been an 8 year restoration so far to get the car to where she's at now. The only reason he gave for selling the car was he just had a newborn and wife said it's gotta go(go figure right). It had probably sat on hold in his garage for a few years prior to me buying it he said he kinda lost interest in it. When I first bought the car it had according to him an M-21 that needed rebuilt due to the synchronizers going out. I drove the car from his house to the gas station and filled the tank up but found out it had all leaked out by time I got home due to a hole in the tank plus it had a power steering gear box but no power steering pump on it which was fun driving home(not really). I dropped the tranny and sent it off to Michigan for a $400 rebuild just to find out it was really a Pontiac M-20 so I used it as a core and paid $1500 for a Chevy M-21. I got the M-21 in the mail finally got it all in just to find out the seal on the tail shaft was bad and the driveshaft yoke wouldn't slide in. In a fury I mailed it back and said to hell with it and paid the extra $500 to have the gears replaced with straight cut M-22 rockcrusher gears. Needless to say she winds now. I dropped the old fuel tank and replaced it with all new stainless steel tank straps new fuel sending unit new anti squeak pad new wiring pig tail. I installed a new and nice KRC power steering pump(looks a lot cleaner than a stock Saginaw). After doing all this I was out driving the car one day when I hit an average bump in the road and next thing I know I hear the tire lock up for about 3 seconds just to find out when I stopped that the tire had jammed up in the inner fender lip and shredded the tire sidewall and blew the fender lip out. When I got home I got to looking at it and realized the alignment and angle of the tires were off which is probably why the tire was able to even touch the lip. After that I took the car to a local shop to have the fender replaced and front alignment fixed and I had them do a few extra things to fix some dings and bad paint areas on the body. I just picked it up last week and that cost me $4300 which I have the receipt for. Now that I've got all that out of the way lets start on the car. What I have here is a 68 Rally Sport Super Sport Big Block 396 4 speed(M-22) 12 bolt rear end houndstooth interior with the deluxed door panels. I know everybody is going to ask if it's original RS SS and if you know Camaros 68 is the only year the vin won't tell you what it originally was. I can say I believe without a doubt it is but have no documentation. The firewall has the original hole for the hideaway headlight vacuum hoses so without a doubt it is and RS. As far as super sport I have no documentation on that but it does have the 12 bolt rear end, the multi-leaf springs, the big block hood with 28 coils on the hood springs and of course the 396. The engine and tranny are not numbers matching BUT the engine is an original 396 out of a 68 Camaro super sport. AND I know for a fact the car was an original automatic the previous owner said he had a th350 in it and didn't like it so he replaced it with the M-21(or so he thought was really Pontiac M-20). Oh and it does have the big block heater core which according to the previous owner was the original that was in the car when he got it 10+ years ago. The engine only has 500 or so miles on it I've got the receipt the last owner gave me from the shop that built it over in Nebreska I believe. For the most part it's stock with the exception and a Lunatic hydraulic roller cam with I believe a .572 lift(she sounds good). Its bored .30 over has a Demon 850 carb hooker headers dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and dumps right at the rear end. Engine is TIGHT I mean when you turn that key she fires right up and turn that key off she's off within the snap of your fingers. When the shop did that body work as previously mention the start went out which killed the battery so it's got a brand new starter, brand new Optima Red Top battery and I had them check the timing because before it would burn your eye balls out sitting in the garage they said it was advanced too much they got that fixed now when you fire her up you don't have to sit there for 2 minutes playing the the gas until she'll idle now within 20 seconds she's good. The last owner changed the distributor from points to hei and I've got a converter box that needs installed so that the rpms are accurate with the hei distributor. Also the 396 block came with the car 10+ years ago when the previous owner first bought the car. Has an original offset 68 Camaro driveshaft the 12 bolt rear end and multi leaf springs were already on the car when he bought it. He changed the gears in the rear end to 4:11 which I thought was too low with an M-22 but you can comfortably do 60 on the highway in 4th at 2000rpms. Oil pressure is great always between 50-60psi. I do believe it has a small oil leak I havn't rolled under to see where I'm assuming the oil pan might need a new gasket. I also replaced the throttle linkage(he just had threadlock to get it drivable) now its jegs adjustable linkage for 68 Camaro plus they also had threadlock as a clutch rod which I replaced with original 68 Camaro clutch rod. Car is extremely drivable it's a blast to drive and I gotta say it is EASY to drive the clutch works GREAT power steering is awesome and the feel can be adjusted by changing the fitting on the bottom of the KRC pump for a tighter or more loose feel. The car has power brakes with front disc brakes from a 69 Camaro. She handles better than my 09 powerstroke. The body is all steel no filler at all. All sheet metal was replaced during restoration new fenders, quarters, floor pans, trunk pan. I believe he said the only original metal was the roof and door skins. The front and rear glass was new with the sides glass being original. All doors hood and trunk shut great. When the body shop had it the last 3 weeks I had them realign the entire front end all body panels line up dead on. Everything you see on the car is new and I mean the whole front end the rs headlights bezels doors vacuum lines vacuum canister marker lights wheel wells front and rear all new. She is missing the actuators for the hideaway lights but everything else is the the canister and all BUT I was going to buy DSE electric actuators instead of using original vacuum but never got around to it. Also the wiper motor and all that is there but not hooked up right now and there is no horn. Paint is in great condition but not show quality as I would see it there are a few chips and bad spots any person who has owned the car for a year would know about. I will take pictures of every bad spot I know about so you guys no up front. I see some Camaros on here that look fantastic in the pictures just like mine but I never see any pictures of flaws and we all know no car is perfect, I want you guys to know what you're getting I'm not here to get one over on anybody I don't like that sh*t myself. The rs reverse lights are missing as well new buyer will need to get those lights and the actuator mechanism that goes on the tranny. All marker lights worked prior to going to the body shop but now they don't. I know its gotta be simple as they worked before and I will be calling them this week about that. I believe all wiring is new in the car but as you'll see the interior is not finished so wiring is not all hooked up. Also the engine block numbers are 3916323. I'll take a picture of the trim tag for you guys if you want to decode it. Car was originally Rally Green with a Vinyl top and ORIGINAL houndstooth interior plus original deluxe panels. The window regulators for deluxe panels had a longer spindle stud for the window cranks because the deluxe panels were thicker and this car has the original long stud regulators in it. I did go and buy all 4 brand new window regulators that will go with the car. The original regulators in it now the splines for the window cranks are worn so I said to hell with it I'll replace those. Car doesn't have an E-brake right now but I have the whole E-brake system brand new to go with the car that includes the pedal assembly with all new pedal pads(e-brake clutch, brake and gas pedal) new e-brake light sensor all new stainless steel cable assembly for under the car(stainless steel is a notch above original) new brackets that mount on the frame. The interior is not complete but most of it is there or I have most to finish it I just don't have the time with work and this new investment. The front seats are brand new and the rear seat is original and recovered of course. The fronts I don't have that plastic cover that goes on the back of them. The passenger seat was taken out to make room for wiring up the center console. Has a tic toc tach which is brand new of course. Had now speedometer cable when I got it but it down now which I had the speedometer gear in the tranny matched to the gear ratio and tire size so it is dead accurate with the current tires. I do have the front door panels brand new of course but now rear panels. Headliner is all brand new but missing the dome light. You will need a rear view mirror, sun visors, a radio, the glove box insert, the trim that goes around the headliner and the chrome interior door seals that go over the carpet. Carpet is brand new as well but needs cleaned/vacuumed from working on the car. Steering wheel brand new. I have all new locks for the doors glove box trunk and ignition that use the same key so you don't have to have 4 different keys those need installed. Also have brand new chrome trim for the rear glass that needs installed. The original owner gave me a brown envelope filled with tons of receipts from all this stuff he bought for the car I havn't gone through them but you will get them. I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff so with that being said I always encourage buyers to come look in person when buying car. If you guys have any questions feel free to email me and I will give you my number. I work 3rd shift so I'll try to get with you when I can. I've got hundreds of photos of this car I'll try to post as much as I can. Car is being sold as is where is with no warranty implied. Keep in mind you are bidding to buy the car, NOT for the chance to come out and kick the tires then decide you don't want it. I will show the car to anyone who wants to come take a look. Deposit is non refundable. I was holding the car for 2 weeks for somebody who was suppose to pick it up this weekend but they havn't contacted me so I'm relisting. I know I could finish the interior and probably sell the car for 30k+ but I don't have the time or interest anymore.
