Vehicle Detail
You’re looking at a 69 VW Karmann Ghia project. The Car: The car is extremely straight, solid, and nearly rust free, a rarity here in the northeast. There is a small, easy to patch hole on a flat panel in the fender well ahead of the left rear wheel. That’s it for rust damage. It has a new wood grain dash insert. Almost everything is here to make it a driver except a rubber kit and dash pad. Mileage is unknown as no speedometer is currently installed, though at least 2 are included. I have bins full of extra parts, gages, trim, etc from 2 parts cars, a nearly full set of extra glass (no extra windshield, or I have not found it), 2 good extra doors, extra seats, etc. In short, there are many chances to recoup part of your investment after completing the project. I will also throw in 2 extra VW IRS transaxles; neither is perfect, but both are driveable, and 2 extra sets of CV drive axles. Running Gear: It has a good later year VW transaxle with urethane mounts included (not yet installed). There’s also a urethane shift coupler, new bushing for the shift rod, and an EMPI short throw shifter with trigger reverse lockout. The engine is the gem of the car. It’s a 2332cc stroker built as follows: 1. New AS41 dual relief case with high pressure reliefs, opened for 94s and clearanced for the stroker crank and rods, modified for full flow oil filtration 2. Scat 84mm stroker crank, forged, fully counterweighted, 8 doweled 3. Scat forged H beam stroker rods with ARP rod bolts 4. AA 94 mm stroker piston/cylinder set with graphite coated forged pistons 5. MOFOCO 050 cylinder heads. My original text included a link to the website, but Ebay made me remove it. Email me and I'll send the link. 6. Scat C25 cam, clearanced for the stroker rods, makes this motor a torque monster 7. Lightweight Lube a Lobe lifters 8. Custom length, 3/8” diameter aluminum pushrods 9. High volume oil pump (26 mm gears) with full flow cover 10. Remote spin-on full flow oil filter 11. Aluminum degree pulley 12. EMPI finned aluminum valve covers 13. C.B. Performance fuel injection, 4 throats like Webers, previously mistakenly said Gene Berg, Is C.B. Performance 14. 009 Distributor with Pertronix Ignitor trigger 15. MSD 6AL Ignition Box 16. Accel Super Coil 17. 36 hp style doghouse fan shroud with interior baffles for proper cooling 18. Bosch Alternator 19. Large bore extractor exhaust 20. Large bore heat exchangers 21. Lightened Steel 8 dowel flywheel 22. Kennedy Stage 1 clutch. My original text included a link to the website, but Ebay made me remove it. Email me and I'll send the link. 23. Fully Balanced 24. High Torque Mini Starter 25. Gage kit including Oil Temp, Voltmeter, Oil Pressure This engine has been test run with carbs on an engine stand and ran well. I wouldn’t sell it, but arthritis in my left leg now makes clutch operation difficult for me. My reserve is well under my invested costs. This auction only allows 24 pix. Added all allowed pix today. I have more available and will email on request. If you want more please ask and I'll send them. Not shown is the 2nd extra transaxle, extra CV shafts, electronics, fuel pump, and pressure regulator for the fuel injection, and the 2 extra doors. Title is listed as "Clear" because Ebay requires a choice and "None" is not an available choice. Maine does not title pre-95 motor vehicles and this car has no title. This car is sold with a bill of sale. On Oct-06-14 at 09:40:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Also has Scat solid rocker shaft with swivel-foot valve adjusters. Missed this in engine description.
