Vehicle Detail
Welcome! You're looking at a recently restored fifty seven Chevy Belair 4 door sedan (A true Belair not a 210 with added trim), one of the most iconic classic cars of all time. Let me start by saying that while restoring it, my intent from the start was to keep it original as much as possible. It's painted with a two stage system, Adobe Beige is the color. The drive train is a 283 V-8 block is a '63 however the heads, carb, exhaust, air filter etc. are fifty seven, you'll notice it still retains the generator and radiator as well. I have used a paper filter element in the air filter just because the oil bath is so messy.. the filter housing has not been modified in any way and the original filter element will go with the car. Backing up the 283 is an original cast iron 2 speed Powerglide transmission (it does leak some fluid when it sits as most do, if you own a tri-five with Powerglide it's only a matter of time before it "marks" it's territory :) ) . Exhaust flows out a new single pipe aluminized system, keeping with the way it left the factory. All it takes is a twist of the key and she fires right up, the rebuilt 2 barrel Rochester idles easily and transitions smoothly
The complete new interior is a direct replacement for the original, notice the loop carpet and Chevy logo floor mats... again all new! On the door windows, new fuzzies, window channel were used, I went so far as to replace the old staples on the fuzzies with new, returning them to original type.... and while I'm on windows, they are all new with Green tint, with the exception of the rear windshield, it was nice enough to keep. The dash cluster retains all original components, lenses were polished, gauges cleaned and new orange applied to the needles. New glove box, clock does not work and neither does the radio... it may work however I did not install a speaker... who listens to AM right? The gas gauge, temp gauge, turn indicators, speedo, oil and gen lights, all function. Basically any rubber parts on doors ,windows, hood, trunk, dash, were replaced with new, that includes the front and rear windshields. I would add that the areas on the full Belair wheel covers, back bumpers, headlight bezels are painted NOT decals! Please look at the pictures, they are a part of the description, and probably do a better job of describing the car than I am. As far as rust is concerned, three floor pans were replaced and both lower front fenders portions(where they all rust out), and about half of the passenger side rear rocker and the driver side rear dog leg. The frame is seamless and in super condition, no rust out anywhere. During restoration the car was stripped down to bare metal and the only sign of any previous body work was on the driver's door, someone brushed something towards the bottom and put a crease down it. A few of the floor braces have some rust out right at the ends where they meet the rockers. Tires are BF Goodrich Silvertown, bias ply wide white walls. You are encouraged to make an appointment to view the car, or I can meet your representative.
Now here is all the fun stuff, most is self explanatory but has to be said. This is a 57 year old car and any warranties GM may have given have long since expired LOL, there are absolutely no guaranty's, or warranties of any kind written or implied. Payment must be in the forms of bank transfer, bank transfers will have to CLEAR MY BANK before the car leaves my possession period, and the title will be sent overnight after payment has cleared my bank, no exceptions on that for very obvious reasons. Cash is king , bring cash pick up car and get title! The car will not have plates so please plan accordingly.
No doubt if you are seriously interested you will have questions, please contact me and we can exchange phone numbers. I do have lots of other picture's I can send so if you would like to see them or specific item's contact me and include your email address so I can send them to you. I want the buyer to be happy not to mention I would like the car to go to someone that will appreciate it. Thanks for sticking with this long winded description and bid often and high LOL. I won't give the reserve out but it's VERY reasonable. Buyer responsible for shipping, I can assist your transporter as needed to pick up carOn Sep-28-14 at 15:01:04 PDT, seller added the following information:
