OVERVIEW

Every year I run a handful of NO RESERVE absolute auctions to see if anyone is paying attention out in “Internet Land”! Today is one of those days, and the offering couldn’t be nicer!

This amazing 1985 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible has just over 69,000 miles showing on the odometer, and looks, runs, and performs like it has even LESS than that!

DESCRIPTION

Nothing said ELEGANCE in 1985 like a Cadillac. I am sure that anyone reading this listing fell in love with one the brands cars at one time or another, and for many years, if you had a Cadillac, you had arrived!

This stunning 1985 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible is being offered today at NO RESERVE, with a $1.00 starting bid, and it is your opportunity to own a collectible show car for whatever your budget will allow!

The white paint on the car is in very good condition, and still shines in the sunlight and under the streetlamps. There are NO large dents, dings, or damaged areas on the body, and really just a handful or so very minor little marks like stone chips and little scuffs to show for its 29 years of age.

We have not detailed the car, and I am sure that a good buff and wax would make it show even nicer than it already does.

The plastic bumper fills even show to be in great condition, which is a testament to the cars care over the years.

Chrome and bright work on the outside of the car looks great, and I am sure that when you take the time to detail and polish the car, it will clean up even better!

Glass is in great condition, and there is just one small pock mark on the lower center of the windshield to keep it all from being perfect.

All of the seals, weather stripping, and window channels are in fantastic condition, and still do what they are supposed to.

The convertible top is in spectacular condition, and shows no rips, tears, seam pulls, or stains anywhere. The rear window is in excellent condition, and is firmly encased in the top.

The top goes up and down just like it should with the electric dash control, and it seals properly all the way around and did not leak when I doused it with water from a hose. The cylinders on the top are recent replacements, and do not show signs of leaking or weeping. The pump is clean, shows no leaks, and is filled to the correct level with fluid.

The inside of the top has a full liner that looks perfect, and there are no signs of damage to the liner, handles, or latches for the top.

Grill, headlight surrounds, side trim, body side moldings, emblems, badging, and hood ornament all look fantastic, and the door handles and power mirrors do too!

Lower body side polished rocker panels look great, and I am willing to bet that they will look even better after you detail the car!

The car rides on practically new MICHELIN XH4 radial tires with narrow white walls, and they show no signs of abnormal wear, damage, or prior repair. The white walls are clean and undamaged as well.

Wheels are the factory rims with Cadillac crest wire caps that all look amazing, and belie the fact that this car has been around for 29 years!

The antenna is equipped with a “booster” that the prior owner had installed, and since it picks up a station in Tampa when my new truck won’t, I guess it must work fine!

Hit the door handle button when the car is locked, and the courtesy lights come on and light up the inside for you. Amazed that they still work after all this time!

Once you open the doors, you are greeted by an interior that looks very clean and presentable, and is the perfect place to command this luxurious machine from.

The dash is in fantastic condition, wrapped in rich red leather, and has no sign of any cracks, damage, or sun fade.

The wood trim on the dash face looks so nice, it’s hard to believe it is the original stuff, but it is!!! It is not warped, stained, damaged, or pulling away anywhere, and still looks amazing!

All of the controls and switchgear in the car looks amazing too, from the wiper and light controls, cruise control switchgear, climate control panel, and original radio. The only button that shows any patina at all is the convertible top switch, but it functions as it should.

The radio sounds great in the car, and the cassette player works just as good as the radio, with all four speakers sounding loud and clear at any volume. Equalizer adjustments let you dial in the sound just the way you like it.

The fuel range LED, MPG LED, Speedometer LED, and the entire INFORMATION CENTER warning light bank all work as they should, and the car has NO warning lights active at this time.

The functional odometer shows 69,372 miles, and the working trip meter was set to zero when I got the car, so I have put just over 206 miles on it myself!

The ashtray drawer opens to reveal a clean tray that doesn’t look like it ever saw an ash, and a functional 12V outlet with the original Cadillac cigar lighter.

All of the dash lights, radio lights, tray light, courtesy lights, and interior lights work like they should, and even the dual visor vanity mirror lights work!!!

The glove compartment opens to reveal a clean, lined inside, with the original owner manual intact, and a working trunk release button.

The automatic day/night mirror works like it should, and is clean and clear to view out of.

Door panels on each side show wonderfully, and have no damage or disrepair to the leather, wood, chrome, or upholstered finishes on them. All of the controls for power mirrors, power windows, power locks, and the power seat adjustments work and function like they should, and nothing needs addressed.

The supple and luxurious leather seats are pillow-like in softness, and show very good from front to back. There is light patina and wear that you expect from a high-grade REAL leather on the front seats, while the rear still look practically new. There are no rips, tears, seam pulls, or damage evident on the seats, just light normal patina from aged leather.

All of the seat belts are intact and functional from the factory.

The red carpeting in the car shows wonderfully, and it is not ripped, torn, or damaged. Take a look at the detailed photos I provided, and you will see that it looks great, but I am sure than when you detail the car, you can make it look even better. The floor mats shown are included, and are in great shape as well.

The convertible top boot is in great condition, is rip, stain, and damage free, and has all of its snaps intact.

The carpeting in the trunk is in great shape, and shows beautifully with no damage evident. The spare tire is believed to be the factory original, and has its original cover in place.

The power trunk pull-down works perfectly, and lets you just lightly release the trunk lid while it does the work of sealing it up.

All of the functional aspects of the car work as they should, including:

The car drives wonderfully, and it exhibits no unusual handling or performance issues.

I have put over 200 miles on the car myself, and I think it is a BLAST to drive! You feel like Boss Hogg from the Dukes of Hazard when you are tooling around in it, and EVERYBODY gives you a thumbs up!

It rolls along at 80mph on the freeway like a new car, and rides so much nicer than anything we build today that you’ll make it your go-to car for long trips!

In town, it steers and handles like a dream thanks to fully functional power steering and brakes.

Handling is light and smooth, and the car goes where you aim it with little fuss or objection.

The powerful V8 motor has PLENTY of power to get you up to speed quickly, and makes passing a breeze at cruising speed.

The motor runs great, has not leaked or wept any fluids, and does not smoke or show any issues of any kind. It starts and idles cleanly, and is ready to go when you are.

The factory climate control system works perfectly, and provides hot heat and defrost, and icy cold air conditioning through all off the varied factory settings.

The car was safety inspected and found to be in exceptional operating condition, and there are no known items that are not functioning like they should at this time.

The chassis of the car is clean and solid, and I have provided a few photos of it on a lift for you to see that it is rust, rot, and issue free, and just has the normal road grime and factory style rustproofing on it.

I can’t imagine anything you would need to do to this car right now other than fill it with gas and detail it. Other than that, it is ready to roll, and I have had a blast cruising around the beach and Sanibel Island in it.

I am pretty sure you could fly in and drive this thing home anywhere in the lower 48, and I bet it would do just fine. It is a great driver, and has been maintained wonderfully since new.

There are NO known mechanical, operational, functional, electrical, or operational issues that I am aware of other than what has been disclosed in the listing above.
