Vehicle Detail
This is a no reserve auction for a barn find 1952 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup truck on a modern Chevy S10 frame. The '52 Chevy was originally owned by a local farmer who used it to transport his produce to market. He drove the '52 Chevy until 1991 when the truck developed mechanical problems at which time it was stored in his barn. He had the original truck seat reupholstered in black naugahyde just before he stopped driving the truck. The seat coil springs and padding are in excellent used condition and the seat is firm and very comfortable. He also replaced the wood in the bed floor with pressure treated wood in the 1980's. The cab, front fenders, grille, running boards, front and rear bumpers and bed were removed from the original frame and transplanted onto the modern Chevy S10 frame. The S10 frame includes a complete drive shaft, motor mounts and a spare tire carrier. New supports were welded to the frame so that the cab, running boards and bed could be bolted in place. Mounting the bed to the S10 frame required raising the height of the bed which you can see in the pictures. Pressure treated wood was used at the rear of the bed where the bed was raised. The gas filler tube for the S10 gas tank is located on the LH front side of the bed floor and includes provisions for water to drain away from the neck. The original '52 Chevy gas tank and straps were removed which now offers a large storage area behind the seat. The original filler neck is still in place but the cap was tack welded shut. This vehicle is ready to accept the engine and transmission of your choice. The patina from the front bumper, and grille to the fenders, cab, bed, rear fenders and rear bumper are the way the truck was removed from the barn. The interior of the truck includes the original glove box door, ash tray, radio delete, an aftermarket amp gauge, original speedo, original gauge cluster, the original wiper motor with linkage, wiper arms and blades. This truck has the original seat with seat frame and seat tracks. The steering column is from a GMC truck and is fully functional. There are many patches and repairs to the body which were done by the original owner over the years. The weakest sheet metal on the truck by far is the tail gate. The pictures show the cab floor both before and after the floor was carpeted. The body and original frame showed no signs of having been involved in an accident other than the dents which you can see in the pictures. I have a clear 1952 Chevy pickup truck title in my name matching the manufacturers original dataplate as shown on the LH door. This truck is located in the eastern most part of the state of PA approximately half way between Philadelphia, PA and New York City. Please review all 24 pictures of this truck. We encourage interested buyers to personally inspect the truck. Please contact me with any questions or call me on my cell phone 1-484-557-2206.
