Here is your next project car, and it's one you can actually drive! 1986 VW Cabriolet; it's the official 80's flashback mobile! Be the envy of all your friends and relive the glory days of the 80's in this timeless car. This car is an easy project, it won't take much to have it in tip-top shape by spring. I've owned 3 of these cars, and this is by far the most solid I've had. I purchased this car to be my totally awesome winter project, but the wife put the brakes on my dream. Oh well, maybe next year. But, that's great news for you, because now you can own it! The car has the rabbit 4-cylinder motor, and a 5-speed stick shift transmission. The top is newer, and the car is super solid, even around the windshield, which is rare for these cars! I drove this car 120 miles to get it home, and I would have no problem driving it on a 300 mile trip. The only real rust on the car is on the driver door. The underneath is perfectly solid. It leaks a little power steering fluid, and it pops out of reverse pretty much every time, and it has an exhaust leak. The top is newer, but the rear windshield was never cut in (weird, right?) but the rear windshield and frame are there. Oh, and the driver seat is busted, so it will probably need to be replaced. In fact, all the seats should be recovered. There are several other small issues. But, that's what a project is all about! No reserve auction, feel free to contact me with any questions. The car was used sparingly, but I would assume the actual mileage is closer to 140k.
