1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL. Power windows, power door locks, air, cruise, CD, Viper alarm. I bought this car in Rochester New York in Feb of this year with the intention of fixing any known issues and then selling it to a Friend of mine. Unfortunately he can't purchase it right now and I have too many other projects to keep it. The previous owners never drove it in the winter. Since I was going to sell it to a Friend of mine, I went through and did a lot of the major maintenance items and have posted some pictures of some of the receipt I could find. This is a very nice running low mileage RX-7. It's straight with a paint job that I would say is an 8 out of 10. It has been repainted in the past. No rust even underneath except for surface rust on the exhaust ( which is still good and the car passed California smog in Feb/March of this year. ). I think whoever gets this car will have a lot of trouble free miles ahead of them since a lot of the major maintenance has been done. ( Even on a low mile car, this stuff sometimes needs to be done. ) Here is a list of the work done in the last six months: 1. New brake rotors all round, front brake pads, front caliper, full tune-up, fluids changed, trans mount, oil cooler seal, hatch struts - $2024.91 2. New KGB front and rear shocks/struts including mounts - $814.65 3. New Kumho tires - ~$300 4. Complete new cooling system including water pump, thermostat, radiator and every single coolant and rad hose on engine. ( I did the install on this but the parts were ~$400.00 ) 5. New Clutch, slave cylinder, engine pan seal and a/c R12 recharge ( ac is ice cold on recirc ), $1562 6. Viper alarm including power door locks, keyless entry and professional tinting of all windows and detail $740.00 7. New Alpine CD player with bluetooth and mic for phone $180 As you can see buying an older even low mileage RX-7 can involve a substantial amount of maintenance to get it up to par. I've gone ahead and done all the big items which cost me just over $6K and even added some modern conveniences like an alarm, power door locks and keyless entry ( including aux button to pop the rear hatch. ). This is now a very nice low mileage RX-7. As you can see I've gone overboard on the car and the next owner will benefit from this! The car is being sold as-is.
