Vehicle Detail
This is a OEM 2002 Toyota Rav4-EV with +/- 84,694 original miles. One of +/- 328 of this model in private hands. I have three of these ’02 Rav4-EVs and need to lighten the collection a bit. This car needs some TLC. History. My brother purchased this car a few years back, drove it for a year, traded it to me when he acquired a Leaf. It runs and drives nominally, but it had developed a charging issue before I received it. It charges a few % each time the paddle is inserted, and then stops charging. The charger-side SOC lights read full, but the actual vehicle SOC reads up only a couple of %. Sometimes it charges a bit more, 5 or 10% SOC, most times not. I do not have the time to play and fix it, so it is being sold as-is. Other Rav4-EVs with this same charging issue have noted success in repair by cleaning the traction batteries, and/or replacing the BPCM (Battery Pack Control Module). We replaced the BPCM when it was still in my brother’s hands without success in the direction of clearing the fault. Since we did not have time or inclination to clean the batteries we do not know if that would resolve the issue. When parked +/- two years ago the car seemed capable of an +/- an 80 mile range, although the battery resistances are known to be high in this car. This was a CA car (Sacramento) all of its life , still titled in CA, and currently in storage in Eagle, CO (central Rockies along I-70). I have not licensed or titled the car here in CO as I have others to drive. I understand that this car was in an accident early in its life, drivers or passengers side door area, but I see no signs of same on the car. The car includes two OEM keys; a custom stereo system (see dash picture); a Rav4-info Palm 505 + cable + software; a Garmin Nuvi dash mount, power windows, locks, mirrors, cruise control and anything else you see in the pictures. White California car-pool stickers. Non-smoking vehicle. I do not have an extra charger to include, sorry, but my brother still has two, one SPI GM Gen2+ and one SPI TAL unit. He will give first right-of-refusal to purchase one or both chargers to this auction winner @ $750/ea plus shipping from CA zip 95630. Both chargers have wall mounts with them. This car once had an AC Propulsion (ACP) generator trailer hooked to it. It still has the HV connections to the tailgate area (see round tubes in pictures) which are hot key-ON, and can be used to charge the traction pack via this port which reads SOC correctly through the vehicle’s computer. This feature is also a good work-around for the current charging issue. I will charge the vehicle to 100% SOC for delivery if buyer so desires (360v nominal on 24 OEM 15v Panasonic EV-95s). It currently runs and drives around the neighborhood but the pack will undoubtedly need to be cycled a few times after sitting in storage. Selling it as is, where is, buyer responsible for shipping cost and arrangements within three weeks from auction end. Pictures serve as complete description. Pictures are current and were taken 2014.09.07. A good deal of additional information about this model OEM Rav4-EV can be found at “ www.evnut.com “. The gentleman who runs that site is an expert on these vehicles. Remember this is a full sized Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) with a high voltage system – so here is the obligatory warning – HIGH VOLTAGE -- buy and/or work-on this vehicle at your own risk. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. Hope it finds a good home. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
