Vehicle Detail
This is a 1992 BMW 535i automatic with a rockin’ radio/CD player. The car’s engine is nonfunctional, however, and thus this car is being sold for parts or repair. Here are the details: The car was successfully driven home from the seller until it overheated and refused to start up again. We’re guessing the head gasket or something went out on it. It then sat for a while, during which time animals ripped off some of the wiring on the engine. There are also a number of other issues: No coolant in the coolant tank Three of the four power windows will not open Hood, trunk, and both driver’s side doors will not stay open on their own Glove compartment will not open Paneling is loose on some of the doors as shown in the photos Chips in the paint and dents on the body as shown in the photos A few rust holes underneath as shown in the photos Rear view mirror fell off the windshield Fog lights do not work Passenger armrest is loose and does not lock into place properly Bottom lining for the sunroof is missing BMW logos are faded or disfigured Also note that the following will not be included: No manual No car battery (I installed a car battery to test out the headlights and ignition, but no car battery will be included.) No tow dolly (We won’t include the dolly shown under the front wheels, of course.) ;-) You are responsible for picking up the car yourself and getting it home; but, if you’re willing to pay an extra fee (say $1 a mile), then we will consider delivering it to you. We’re not BMW experts and don’t know too much about this car’s history, but, if you have questions, then feel free to e-mail or call us at (269) 506-2331. Keep in mind that this is an old car that has sat around for a while, so, as you tear it apart, you’re bound to find more things wrong with it. It is thus being sold as is with no warranty. Additionally, because I cannot start up the engine, there are a number of things that I could not test. For example, the condition of the air conditioner, steering, brakes, transmission, etc. are unknown because the engine needs to be running to test them. However, if you have a passion for fixing up old BMWs, then this just may be the car for you!
