Vehicle Detail
Yes, indeed it is difficult to find a solid example of this vintage car. It is all original. You can see from the photos that it is halfway through restoration. I had the car stripped and painted at a Brit specialist shop. He told me that he has never seen one so solid. The bumpers and bumperettes were chromed. The paint job could use wet sanding if you want to make it A+. The tires are 3 years old and have few miles on them, and the top was put on at that time. The interior still needs to be done, and new floors welded in to make it proper. You can see the patch job from the previous owner. The engine runs, but the carb is leaking fuel. I was told over the phone that it is a sticking pin in the carb but I have no idea how to take it apart. I just like to drive them and have no idea how to fix them. The bonnet also squeaks when riding down the road so some adjustment is needed there. The rear leaf spring needs to be adjusted as the car is tilting. An excellent reference article from Hemmings: www (dot) hemmings (dot) com/hsx/stories/2014/05/01/hmn_feature6.html The transmission seems to be fine, and the engine probably will need a rebuild at some point. Everything works on it. You will need to have this trailered, but I will be available to help when it is picked up. All funds must clear before the car is shipped. This is an "as is" sale. Clear title in hand, given the age, I cannot confirm mileage of this car. I have tried to represent this as best I can, but I am not a mechanic. I think the photos will give you a good idea. Thanks for your questions and bids.On Aug-30-14 at 12:20:27 PDT, seller added the following information: New Information: Sorry not to have checked these out: The turn signals and brake lights work, but the headlights and fan do not. This is new and wonder if it is a fuse (can't find the fuse box). The wipers work but are slow. If the car were to run awhile they may speed up, but with the gas leaking from the ballast it's not a good idea to run it. I checked with a mechanic and he is fairly certain the ballast is either stuck or needs replaced. The clutch is fine, and I drove it down the alley - spewing gas. Again, this car should be towed and gone over before taking it on the road. It has a new battery, and the top was put on at the time the paint was done. There are some paint imperfections and the hubcaps need to be redone. See additional photos. This car is obviously not perfect, but at a fair price for what it is. I want this to go to the right person that will be able to finish it up and enjoy it. It really deserves to be on the road. Thanks. On Sep-03-14 at 09:54:40 PDT, seller added the following information: ERROR: This is a 1963, NOT 1964! Sorry for the confusion.
