Up for auction is a 1985 Mercedes Benz SL 500 Roadster, European model. This particular model differs from the US model, having more horsepower, European style integrated bumpers, factory installed rear seats and a rear spoiler. Not many of these were imported from Europe so this is a pretty rare car. eBay will not let me enter in the VIN as it is not an American VIN. It is WDB1070461A032867. The body is in very nice condition - very straight. The paint is in good condition, showing minor scratches. It has been garage kept or under a car cover most of it's life. The floor and frame are solid - no rust. The leather seats are in good condition showing minor wear on driver's seat. No rips or tears. No cracks in dashboard. AM/FM stereo with CD player. The AC is currently not blowing cold. Brakes have all been done approximately 3K miles ago. The convertible soft top is in good condition, however, there is a tear that I was told can be patched without difficulty for approximately $125. The included hardtop is in very good condition. The engine runs smoothly and transmission shifts fine. The tires are still good but are getting old. Please note - the white or bright areas you see in some of the pictures are just reflections from the sun and the trees above. There are no white spots on the car. Overall, this has been a well cared for and greatly appreciated car. It has been owned for the past 17 years by the same owner and has been a great driver and a really nice ride.
