Vehicle Detail

Facts: S2000 AP1, CLEAN TITLE, HIGH AUTOCHECK SCORE of 90. 95% highway mileage, Six speed manual transmission, limited slip differential, lightweight flywheel, xenon headlights, PIAA blue high beams. Type J carbon fiber fender has integral front lip spoiler, OEM rear spoiler, Carbon fiber rear diffuser-keep car glued to road. 9000 redline, limited slip differential, no traction controls. No driving aids, this car is a pure driver's machine. Premium sound system you can hear the music on the highway with the top down. Complete record of all maintenance and repairs performed. Owner: I am in my 50's and have owned and raced many great cars over the years, including a 1986 CRX, a 1988 CRX si, a 1988 Porsche 924S, and now the S2000. The S2000 is stock, it has not been raced. It has a large amount of highway miles because I have a commute of 220 miles per day, or about 5,000 per month. When I find a great car I keep it, I maintain it, I service it at a high level of attention to detail with quality parts. Why Honda: The S2000 is Honda's handmade show car that was supposed to sell as a limited edition for three years 2000, 2001 and 2002. The car has a redline of 9,000 rpm in a 2.0 liter engine or about 120 bhp per liter, Formula One territory in a street driven automobile. S2000's were so popular initially, that they sold for $10,000 over list, such as mine did. It has the designation AP1. The car proved so popular Honda continued to make the car until 2009. Note: I'll make myself accessible throughout the auction to show the car, should a potential buyer opts to inspect the car firsthand. Even though the description and photos are thorough, I strongly recommend a firsthand inspection of the car or via a third party agent of your choosing before the listing expires. Review the pictures. There is one showing the new drive belt and OEM pulleys installed. There is another of the four Bosch platinium plus2 sparkplugs that were in for 61,000 miles, you will see that they have almost no wear and no sign of ANY engine problems. The front bumper pictures show the Blinder laser jammer/detectors, the last three pictures show the extra OEM wheels with V12 Hankook Performance Tires, and the interior pictures show Calazzio Seat Covers available as an extra to the the bid or buy it now price, please see bottom of listing. New OEM idler drive pulley, installed (aftermarkets are made of plastic) should be monitored and changed every 50,000 to 75,000 miles, problems ensue if bearings seize. Included assorted spare and hard to find parts to make life easier. See if any of the other S2000's available for any price, that have had this work done, or will be done, when the car is sold to you. WHY THIS CAR IS WORTH MORE: CLEAN TITLE, VERY HIGH AUTO CHECK SCORE 90. FYI: salvage titles worth 1/2 less, some insurances companies will not insure. Meticulously maintained by an owner who keeps the car in top mechanical condition. Maintenance/Mods: Synthetic oil changes regularly every four months. MTF fluid change every 50,000-75,000 miles. Differential oil change every 50,000-75,000 miles. Platinum Spark plugs changed every 60,000-75,000 miles. Hard wired: for radar detector and laser jammer/detector. Honda Owner's manual, Complete records of all maintenance. Full records of all fluid changes. OEM spare tire and tools. Repair logs and repair manuals. Regular Maintenance: Needs to be done between 100,000 and 180,000 miles. See if it is done on any other S2000 you plan to buy, many of these are age, not mileage based: new OEM Timing Chain Tensioner (TCT), new OEM drive belt pulley, new OEM idler pulley, new OEM v-tec relay switch, new OEM clutch, bearing, pressure plate, and resurfaced flywheel (done by Billman, noted S2000 mechanic) new clutch master cylinder, new clutch slave cylinder, new OEM radiator and coolant fill, new OEM coil packs, all four replaced, new OEM oxygen sersors, both primary and secondary. New Performance catalytic converter. Goodyear gatorback drive belt. 4 wheel alignment and General AS-03 W-rated all season performance tires. Regular replacement of hex bolt o-ring, vtec relay o-ring - prevents oil leaks OEM coil packs and OEM oxygen sensors are very expensive, some use aftermarkets which don't last. Backstory: AEM Cold air intake and K&N air filter improve breathing and low end torque, Carbon fiber panels reduce excess weight for performance increase. When Vtec cuts in at 6000 revs (9000 redline) it takes off. For example, 4700 revs in six gear is 85 mph (9000 redline, you do the math). Reliable bone stock original motor, never had nitrous, turboed or anything done to the engine to compromise engine reliablity, it has rewarded me with trouble free miles. Slotted and drilled brake rotors with Stoptech performance ceramic pads. Performance Mods: CarbonCreations type J bumper with integral lip spoiler, CarbonCreations OEM fenders, ASM carbon fiber rear diffuser, OEM rear spoiler, Carbon fiber appliques on Dash, Anatomic Leather shift knob, (The Carbon Fiber alone is worth over $2000 new) Custom Modifications: Mod 1: one finger cruise control release. Mod 2: convertible top bypass, allows top to be raised or lowered when car is not at complete stop, (brake lever must be up one click). Mod 3: front bumper and fender sides debadged. Mod 4: aero clear side marker lights. Mod 5: rear black LED brake light bar. Mod 6: wind blockers in roll hoops to reduce wind turbulence. Mod7: carbon fiber side mirror covers. Mod 8: polished OEM wheels. Mod 9: Mugen Racing pedals (make a real different in performance heel and toe driving). The reason for selling: Have too many speeding tickets need to sell car for something slower, more plain looking, "dull and slow," not "flashy and fast." This is from my wife, "time to slow down." This is from my landlady, "can't keep two cars." MY MISFORTUNE IS YOUR FORTUNE. I have maintained this car to run forever and it has rewarded me with many trouble free miles. Far better than any other car I have owned. It is your turn to own one of the best examples of an S2000 ever made. The Truth: High mileage, if that bothers you, look elsewhere, Cosmetics, not a perfect car, I was going to replace doors and rear bumper with carbon fiber, which you can do or repaint the parts. Parts of carbon fiber bumper and fenders, need touchup, (wet sand and clear coat), Hood has stone chips, Driver seat is worn, but there are no tears. Robbins Cloth Top in fair shape, replaced 5 years ago, has been patched, does not leak. 100 percent mechanically perfect, everything works: AC, electrical steering, heating, roof mechanism all fluids, belts, changed regularly. Interior maintained and in very good shape, engine has a timing chain, which is permanent, not a timing belt. OEM Timing chain Tensioner has been replaced as part of regular maintenance. Water pump is not weeping and does not have to be changed, design of engine does not stress this part unlike many other cars. This car has not been over revved in its lifetime. Valve retainers are sound, this can only be determined by visual inspection from an experienced S2000 mechanic. A leakdown test doesn't work. First generation S2000 with 9000 redline can have cracked retainers if over revved, usually during a missed gear change under fill throttle. Valve float at high rpm, cause this problem. I have seen S2000s with this problem. Additional stress on the engine comes from turbo or nitrious, this car is stock. That is why the mileage, while high, is not an issue. Responsibility of the potential buyer: Review Kelly's Blue Book to see going prices. The finish is rough that is taken into consideration in the buy it now price. Car has very high AutoCheck rating. CLEAN TITLE, not a salvage title like many others in this price range. You are more than welcome to check out car, and to take a ride. No test drives, insurance liability, so please don't ask. This S2000 needs a good home and a great new owner and it will last a very long time. If you want a cheap car, please search out the salvage and wrecked S2000's because there are many of them. Very hard car to drive very fast...... Prefer to sell to someone who is an experienced driver who knows how to handle a car that can oversteer. I will not go outside of EBAY, no should you suggest it, you will void autocheck and ebay warranties. Scammers, don't waste you time, move on... please. THIS CAR HAS NOT BEEN TRACKED, IT HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED. I DON'T WANT TO SELL THE CAR, I HAVE TO SELL THE CAR. PLEASE NO TRADES, HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED REPLACEMENT. NEED THE S2000 TO GO. DON'T HAVE THE SPACE. CAR IS WORTH PREMIUM BECAUSE IT IS IN BETTER SHAPE MECHANICALLY THAN MANY S2000s ON THE ROAD. KELLY'S EVALUATION WAS USED AS A GUIDE. PRICE IS REASONABLE BECAUSE OF THE ROUGH BODY. I HAVE EXTRA SPARES OF CERTAIN PARTS WHICH WILL BE INCLUDED DEPENDING ON FINAL SELLING PRICE. EXTRAS: Not included with the price BUT subject to later negotiation. Review pictures for: Hankook V12 tires 205-55/16 and 225-50/16 OEM 16" clearcoated Wheels, the pictures show the amount of wear, almost none, condition of the rims, pristine, while any aftermarket wheel can fit, without the proper backspacing they will be too flush with the fenders, and you will need hub spacers to prevent vibration. ($600 + $600)* New Mintex front brake pads, (compare to Hawk HPS (easier on rotors, same stopping power) ($100)* Stoptech Street Performance pads, front and rear ($125)*. Clazzio Sport Suede Seat Covers (black and charcoal) ($300)* Whistler radar detector ($75)* Blinder laser jammer/detector ($475)* Alpine head unit mp3 ($250)* with Modifry dash control module ($100)*(to enable aftermarket head units to work with the dash controls.) * *estimated replacement cost I will not go outside of EBAY, so please don't suggest. If you want to low ball, just check out the other listings around this S2000. None will be in better shape mechanically as this one. Remember CLEAN TITLE. HIGH AUTOCHECK SCORE. Thank you for looking.
