Vehicle Detail
Two project 2002s located in Mariposa, California, near Yosemite National Park. Sold together, I will not part out so don't ask. I want this to help some 2002 enthusiast get a good project going on the cheap plus my goal is to clean up my property not run a junk yard. You take home both cars and all the 2002 parts I can locate. I was in the midst of a race car build in 2005-7, I worked for BMW at the time, and have since been forced to abandoned the project due to major life changes. Have come to terms that the dream is beyond dead, time to move on. I have owned 7 2002s and have a lot of 2002 junk and some good stuff. You get the blue car which has minimal rust, no rust in the shock towers that I can see, dual side draft Webers, a Stahl header, and a 5 speed. It last ran in 2004 and was running very well, a very fast car. I wanted to track the car and started stripping it of everything I did not want for the final build. So there is no interior just a tub, the dash and metal cross member supporting dash and rear seat metal support etc. has been completely removed to prepare for a roll cage, it is stripped as you can see from the photos. It has a set of bottle cap wheels and tires that might hold air long enough to get it on a trailer. It rolls though the front suspension is not fully bolted together and has no steering wheel. The maroon car is a basket case I saved from a crusher, but useful parts are there. Maybe a dead mouse or two or ten. The right rear wheel is seized and tires are flat and the wheels have locks on them so to move it it has to be drug. You are buying both cars. If you don't want the maroon car don't bid. I want them both gone. Black widows are free along with any other wildlife you may find inside. I have glass, crappy tail lights, various parts that are maybe junk, maybe not. In the most likely not junk category; I have a new poly bushing set for the front suspension and a thin blade bumper front and back from a 1602 I will throw in if I can locate, which I am pretty sure I can. I am leaving the country and need them sold and picked up on August 16-18. If you need another pick up date add $100 to your bid and make arrangements with me, but the deadline for pickup is August 31, 2014 - after that date I can not facilitate pick up. I have a five hour drive to the get to the property on which the cars are stored and a tight schedule therefore I require 50% payment in advance of pick up and the extra $100 if you can't manage pick up August 16-18. If you don't show up I keep your deposit and relist the cars. If you are a low feedback or poor feedback bidder I reserve the right to cancel your bid. I have California titles to both cars and both are paid up and non-operational so no money is owed to the California DMV. I am pretty sure one is a 72 and the other a 71 but I don't recall which is which. The blue one may have a salvage title, not sure why it would be, it was pretty straight and I didn't find evidence of a major or minor crash when I was working on it. No guarantee about that, just my opinion. So you PayPal me 50% of the final bid, then show up with cash and a trailer on the date and at the time we agree to. Once you show up I will put the cars on my road outside the gate of my property with all the parts inside, sign the titles over to you, tell DMV you are the new owner, you load them up and go home with your two project 2002s. This is a straight up auction, reasonable reserve, no offers outside of Ebay, bid to win, no funny business - it's that simple. These cars and the parts are sold as is. Keep in mind the photos are from two different times, when I had a garage and where they are currently stored. I will be happy to talk to you on the phone or answer any questions you have assuming you have read the above fully. Paul 213-393-7750
