Vehicle Detail

Up for auction "again" is my 1999 Triumph Daytona 955i Triple cylinder sport bike. This is my 6th Triumph Daytona. I've had 97's through 02's and absolutely love 'em. I picked up this bike early this Spring and swapped out the oil with Mobil 1 and drained and flushed the coolant system. The previous owner related that he changed the chain last year as well as the plugs and air filter and had the ECM updated at the local Triumph dealer. I replaced the coolant with fresh silicate free Prestone and pressure tested the system. She needed a new radiator cap, so one was added to top her off. I repacked the D&D with street packing for a lower exhaust note and added new bands and rivets. I added a color matched under tail and smaller blinkers in the rear as well as a tank pad to keep scratches off the rear of the tank. I swapped out the stock mirrors for a CRG bar end mirror and swapped the stock levers for a set CRG adjustable ones. The rear tire has around 750 miles on it and the front Battlax has plenty of wear left for this year, but will need replaced for next season. The bike has a hairline crack in the airbox cover next to the center screw, a paint chip at the right rear of the tank and a few small scrapes/scratches, which are pictured. I tried to take an abundance of pics to illustrate the condition of the paint. I just took the bike on a ten hour trip to Baltimore and back and it performed flawlessly, just like all of my Triumphs have. I received a pile of compliments and stares as I wheeled into the Inner Harbor with the D&D pipe singing off the storefronts. Flat out, the bike is an awesome old triple and sounds and runs awesome. I can tell you right now, it runs like new and screams on the top end. I swapped out the stock battery for a Motobatt gel battery (kinda like an optima battery for your car) that spins it over like a rocket. The bike will come with a Pitbull race stand and a Genuine Triumph Service manual as well as the stock rear seat and cowl. I apologize for the blur in the pics, it's defect in my camera's lens. If you have any questions, drop me a line and I'll get right back to you. Please only bid if you're seriously looking at getting a bike. There's NO RESERVE since I have to fund a Honda XR I just picked up for an around town scoot. On Aug-08-14 at 10:21:35 PDT, seller added the following information: I've received a number of questions in the first listing and now in the second regarding the status of the title and accident history. I have not run a carfax on the bike, but it shows absolutely no signs of being tipped, crashed, salvaged, rebuilt, or otherwise abused. The bike is solid, otherwise I wouldn't jump on it for a 10 hour round trip. The initial auction didn't go through successfully because the winning bidder did not wish to complete the transaction, which is why I added the blurb about only bidding if you're serious The bike is located in Mansfield, PA as is stated in the listing. I can help arrange for shipping as I've done it with a few bikes I've bought and sold in the past. I've used Federal Motorcycle Transport with good luck as well as Haulbikes.com. I've used Uship with varying degrees of success...basically, Uship is a crapshoot.
