Offered is a 1958 Edsel Corsair 2 door hardtop. This car is unrestored with 87,100 original miles on the odometer. Exterior color is jet black body with jonquil yellow cove and roof. Interior is white vinyl with gold cloth (cloth appears darker than the usual gold color, closer to the copper colored cloth), the Edsel push button transmission is mated to the "top of the line" 410 engine. We have owned this survivor for the past eleven years during which time she has always been garage kept and pampered. We enjoyed showing this car in its' present state of preservation, we felt it was much more interesting to car buffs that way. Unfortunately health issues and mounting medical bills make it impractical to keep the car with us. If you are interested in preserving Edsel automobiles for future generations to appreciate this car may be what you are looking for. Nearly everything on this car is original, even the back seat is still covered in dealer option plastic wrap!! With that being stated, we have reproduction tail lights and "knee knocker" lenses on the car now because we were unable to find satisfactory originals. The car ran fine the last time she was pulled into the garage, but when I attempted to start her this week I could not get her to turn over. At this point in time I do not have the ability to maintain this prize automobile as required, therefore it is time for someone else to enjoy her. Due to the fact that I do not have her running I am asking substantially less than the agreed upon insurance value of the car ($12,500 Grundy). With only 3312 cars of this type manufactured this is a great opportunity to own not only a rare automobile but a 50's icon! This car is being sold as is, no warranty implied.
