I purchased this Porsche in Louisville, Kentucky in August 2005 with an odometer reading of 51,821 miles. I drove the car to Cleveland (where I resided before moving to Florida) for a complete Porsche dealer check, which was completed at Fred Baker Porsche and Audi, Inc. They replaced both rear axles, adjusted the flex plate and improved some other little things to make sure it was in perfect shape. I drive the car to work and back home 2 to 3 days per week at approximately 12 miles per day. At night and on weekends, the car is parked in a garage, and during the weekdays, it is parked under a canopy away from the sun. - Replaced motor mounts in March 2007 at 61,610 miles- Replaced timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, wires with caps, vacuum lines under intake in September 2008 at 68,488 miles - Replaced flex plate shaft bearings and adjusted timing belt in January 2009 at 69,522 miles, and on the way home the odometer gear broke. For about 2000 to 3000 miles, I drove the car as is until November 2009 when funds were available to replace the gear, bulbs in the gauge cluster, an alternator and a few other little things. At that time the odometer showed 69,523 miles. - Replaced anti-lock pressure regulator in December 2009 at 69,711 miles - Replaced AC compressor, expansion valve, dryer, R&R vacuum box suction in June 2010 at 71,779 miles. It is converted to a new kind of coolant. - Replaced a repainted intake and all corresponding gaskets in November 2010 at 73,300 miles - Replaced belts in June 2011 at 76,248 miles - Replaced front rotors with original Porsche parts. Replaced front and rear brake pads (PBR XBG D939RM-front, PBR XBG D345XBG-rear) and sensors in August 2011 at 76,458 miles - Replaced air valve hoses under intake in January 2013 at 81,855 miles Regular oil changes and checks at 3000-3500-mile intervals. The steering wheel is from a later model that has been modified to fit this one. The parts from the original wheel were used to do that. The air bag is not operational. This was done by a friend of mine. I do not have the original wheel. If you feel that you need the original wheel, you will need to purchase and replace it. The steering shaft was not modified. A/C vacuum control system was rerouted to keep the outside air flap constantly closed for air to come out of central and side supply registers. In Florida, this works great. The instruction on how to do that is on rennlist.com under "Summer Control Modification" The heater is not on. To turn it on, I reconnect one vacuum line manually. This takes 2 minutes to do. The temperature control does not operate with this modification. This is what I had to do in order to keep A/C at maximum effectiveness. To make the system fully operational, the control pods will need to be reconnected to the original configuration. The Porsche radio unit has an AUX function to plug in a smart phone. There is a small power steering and transmission fluid leak. While in my possession, there were no accidents. The last owner told me the same. Overall, the car is in very good shape and is dependable and fun to drive. All of the power items, windows, seats, and sunroof work. I do not want this car to go to a place where it ends up sold for parts. It has a lot more life left. I am driving the car for the duration of auction so it will have some more miles. The car must be driven to keep it in shape.
