I am offering a late model and low miles example of the incredible Airhead BMW R100GS. There are no computers on this bike, you can repair or modify it yourself, you are NOT Dealer Dependent! I am an independent BMW technician, Airheads only. I purchased this bike for one of my clients, and went completely through it to bring it up to lhis standards. Then, my client (and friend) was diagnosed with cancer so I am now selling the bike. Title is in my name, clean Montana title. It’s a rare, low-miles R100GS. There are some scratches on the handguards and there were scratches on one valve cover (since polished out), and there are a couple of small cracks in the windscreen mounting points (which I have reinforced with epoxy) and a scrape on the front fender, which I have doctored. Otherwise, the motorcycle seems to be in fine shape. No dents or scrapes on tank or bodywork, no tears on seat. Tires are near new. Akront wheels are true and without dings. I have over $2000 in service billed out on the bike, over and above purchase price. (Original invoice available.) I’ll summarize: • All fluids drained and refreshed. Synthetic oil installed. All cables lubed. • Heads torqued, valves adjusted. • Carbs cleaned, new float bowl gaskets, cleaned the diaphragms, polished the needles, synched the carbs. • Most nuts/bolts/screws replaced with Stainless Steel. • New K&N air filter. • Real Gasket reusable pan and valve cover gaskets. Oil pan cleaned. No shrapnel or filings found in pan. • Smog system removed, proper smog-undo plugs installed. • Starter rebuilt. • Exhaust pipes removed, threads thoroughly cleaned with dental picks, both in heads and on gland nuts, re-assembled with Anti Seize compound on the threads. There is no evident thread damage to the exhaust spigots. Chrome on the pipes is not perfect, there is some dulling and blueing, but no rust. • BMW original equipment bags, cleaned up. The One Key system for bike and bags works. Seat and bags all lock and release as originally issued. • Clutch and rear wheel splines cleaned and lubed. • All cables lubricated including tach and speedo cables. • Cleaned the alternator brushes and the alternator armature. No wear evident, saw no reason to replace brushes. Cleaned all electrical contacts inside front cover. • Stainless steel front brake line installed, flushed the whole brake system. • New sealed gel battery I have 35 years of experience riding and wrenching Airhead BMW’s and this is one seriously nice bike. Tires are near new, there are no dings in the Akront wheels, I have checked all spokes for tension, they are just fine. In summary, this motorcycle represents a chance to own an incredible “adventure touring” BMW without the burden of computers and associated (expensive) dealer entanglement. The bike is easily serviced without extensive technical knowledge. You could confidently tour the world while carrying minimal spare parts. In short, the bike is a rare motorcycle in fine shape, with no evidence of abuse. Shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser. I require a $500 PayPal deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction. If you cannot make this deposit, don’t bid on the bike. I have sold several bikes from this collection recently, and I’ve had it with scams and games and poseurs. I don’t want to hear your sad story, I want $500 to hit the table via PayPal within 24 hours. If this doesn’t happen I don’t want to talk, I’ll repost the auction and turn you in to Ebay as a fraud. You pay the deposit and I’ll take you seriously. Balance of payment due in 7 days. Method of payment of the balance can be discussed but once again, I’m fed up with scammers, please be real. No, I don’t accept Bitcoin or Cashier’s Checks from The People’s National Bank of Nigeria. I will ship internationally but you have to make all arrangements. If I have to put any extra effort (other than meeting your shipper at a commercial location) into fooling around with the shipping, I will charge you my shop rate for the services, the bike won’t ship until I get paid. Shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser. (I know, I already said that but this requirement needs to be stated twice.) I’ll help by delivering the bike to the shippers at a commercial address, as long as we get it done before the snow flies. PLEASE get your shipping estimates ahead of time. I do not want to hear your whining when you discover, after winning the auction, that it is expensive to have motorcycles shipped from Montana. Yes. Montana is a long way from the East Coast and shipping can be expensive. Factor this reality into your bidding. I wll shoot more photos of the bike and send them along to you, if you need detailed pictures. I will answer any questions and engage in long email discussions regarding the bike…if you are real. I am not in the entertainment business but if you are seriously interested I will discuss the bike at length. I’ve had some wonderful ebay experiences in selling motorcycles, where I end up being friends with the buyers. I’ve also dealt with some jerks, and I’m tired of the breed. If you are interested in this bike, let me simply state that it is a wonderful example of a rare and highly collectable motorcycle which has been thoroughly serviced and refreshed. I will do my best to make the purchase and ownership of this bike a wonderful experience for you, including consulting with you after the sale, and through time.
