This 1997 993 Targa is stunning and a blast to drive. I am caring for and selling it on behalf of a friend. He has owned it since 1998 and performed all scheduled maintenance. Major maintenance records come with the car. It does not have minor maintenance records (oil changes). It spent about 6 years in Dallas and was then shipped to San Diego. The car was shipped to me in Austin on December 27, 2013 from San Diego where spend most of it's life. It was originally purchased in San Francisco from the Porsche shop that rebuilt the front end following an non-impact accident that caused the insurance company to total it. What happened? Well, in 1997 a large 4x4 back over the front of the car in a parking lot. I have driven her 2-3 days a week for the last 6 months while performing or having performed major and routine maintenance and some minor improvements. Prior to that, for about 5 years, she was driven about 50 miles per months and garaged in San Diego. No oil leaks. Oil usage is well below 1/3L per 1000 miles.H&R sport springs lower the car about 1.25". See the photosThe following maintenance has been performed over the last 6 months (2500 miles) Oil and filters changed with BradPenn 20-50 Tiptronic Transmission flush, filter change, refill with Mobile 1 ATF Full brake system flush and clean out, ABS pump clean out, refilled with ATE 200 fluid. The brakes are solid right now but the ABS is off.Hawk HPS brakes pads front and rear. Targa top alignment and wind noise eliminated.Muffler bypass pipe installed. Sounds great yet not loud and no in cabin drone.New spark plugs, caps, rotors.New belts.Paint clay bared, cleaned, polished, waxed.Replaced three ticking exhaust liftersLeft lower valve cover gasket replaced.The following major maintenance has been performed in the last 30K milesSAI (Secondary Air injector) system repaired with engine out. All major gaskets that are prone to leakage replacedABS pump diagnosed as having a clogged valve body.On Jul-14-14 at 13:08:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Here's a video of the start up sound and the targa top and wind deflector working. Note, the tach is set 45 degrees because I was just playing around with the position of it for ease of viewing. I will set it back before it ships.
