VIN # WDBAB33C8FA262114 Up for auction is a 1985 Mercedes Benz 300D Turbo Diesel - California Edition. I purchased many years ago when Diesel was cheap. Have done many repairs and in the coming days will add more photos and description. Why I am selling:When I purchased I had transmission totally rebuilt (Not repaired). During my use the transmission stack shifted (Meaning it was in 3rd gear way too soon). As a result 3rd gear is broken.Transmission shifts fine from 1st to 2nd but when it shifts into 3rd it acts like neutral. Fluid is full and cherry red. Body is ruff - Second paint job is peeling. I have had several areas of rust professionally repaired in preparation for new paint but have lost interest. Auction includes all receipts, special valve adjustment tools, manuals and many spare parts. This vehicle is different than all other 1985 I have seen. Has vacuum adjustable headlights and different back seat and interior lighting that any other 300D I have seen. Glass is all fine - Windshield replaced (not original) all motors and switched function normally.All lighting functional Engine starts and runs well - One glow plug weak.Tires need to be replaced - Brakes are fineExhaust is 2 years old. Suspension is Bilstein all the way around.Brakes are fine, rotors are fine. All glass is perfect new windscreen and all other windows work and central lock works. Can leave for many weeks and still vacuum locks work fine. Power mirror works fine - All lighting work normally All vacuum diaphragms in dash have been replaced. Interior is very fine. Cracks in arm rest and headliner has cigarette lighter burn in sun roof. (How it got there is a mystery).Wood work has been professionally restored and is amazing.Dash has professionally installed cap.AC has new compressor and new control unit - Presently not cold - Blown flexible line.Will add more photo soon.
