The vehicle currently has 96,479 miles, & was removed from service in June 2014 as part of our normal vehicle rotation cycle. The vehicle has several issues that needs to be addressed. The vehicle needs a tune up, needs new front brakes, & has a rear end noise/growl that needs to be repaired. The tires have approximately 20% tread remaining tires. The exterior is in good condition. The hood has small, minor rock chips at the front edge near the top of the grill. The step bars on both sides of the vehicle are rusted & may need to be replaced. There is a nickel size dent & paint chip present at the top of the left rear wheel well. The tailgate plastic trim piece is broken in half where the rear Ford emblem is attached. There are 2 spots where paint has chipped & started to rust at the right rear wheel well. The interior is in fair condition. The dash has 2 small screw holes from where the mic holder was previously mounted. The center console has 3 small rectangular cutouts & one larger square cutout from where emergency radio & switches were previously installed. The lower trim portion of the driver seat is loose. This vehicle was serviced on a 120-day preventive maintenance cycle. Other repairs to this vehicle include the following items. In May 2014, the rear brake pads & left rotor were replaced. Also, the CV boot was repaired. In Feb 2014, the alternator was replaced. In Sep 2013, at 85,182 miles, the thermostat housing & driver seat lower shield assembly were replaced. In Aug 2013, at 84,658 miles, the driver door ajar switch was replaced. In July 2012, at 71,396 miles, the battery was replaced. In Mar 2012, at 68,664 miles, the wiper blades were replaced. In July 2011, at 63,031 miles, the left front tire was repaired. In May 2011, at 61,977 miles, the air duct assembly was replaced & the vehicle was checked for a possible issue with the transmission engaging harshly in reverse. In Mar 2011, at 60,301 miles, the harmonic balancer, driver belt, belt tensioner, & passenger door mirror assembly were replaced. IN Dec 2010, at 58,758 miles, the rear end pinion seal was replaced. In July 2010, at 55,555 miles, rear end additive was added for drive train shudder. In Aug 2009,a t 48,660 miles, the trailer plug was replaced with an RV style trailer plug. In Aug 2008,a t 37,380 miles, the right rear turn signal bulb was replaced. In Mar 2008, at 33,598 miles, the front brake pads, front rotors, rear brake pads, rear rotors, parking brake shoes, parking brake shoe retainers, all four tires, & wiper blades were replaced. The transmission was also flushed. In Nov 2006, at 20,683 miles, the left front fender was replaced due to a minor accident & the vehicle was returned to service. In July 2005, at 9,092 miles, the transmission had a recall performed for transmission delay issues. This vehicle can be viewed between the hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding national holidays, at the City of Champaign Public Works Department, 702 Edgebrook Drive, Champaign, Illinois. The vehicle must be picked up between the hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday at the same location.The City of Champaign is required to sell all vehicles through an auction process.
