I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a fairly rare 1991 Mercedes-Benz 350SDL. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a big Mercedes fan. It is my opinion that a Mercedes-Benz (of the 90's and older) are the best cars on the road. This model comes from a time when a Mercedes-Benz was built to a standard, not a price point. Attention to quality shows throughout every Mercedes-Benz automobile. Among these great vehicles, the diesel cars are the most desirable. The most obvious reason is the increased fuel economy and reliability of a German diesel engine...these are literally million mile capable cars. The most important reason is slightly less obvious. Nobody bought a diesel Mercedes-Benz because it was on sale. They purchased a diesel because they knew exactly what they wanted in a car. The diesel cars went mainly to buyers who knew they were going to put hard miles on a car and wanted the highest standard in reliability without making compromise in luxury. The other diesels went to Mercedes enthusiasts who desired these vehicles for their pedigree and longevity and were buying a vehicle to keep for decades, not until their lease was up or the next greatest gadget came out. This 350SDL appears to be of the later category given the relatively low mileage ( just over 9,000 miles/year avg.) for the age of the car. This 350SDL has had the same owner since it had just 135k miles on it in 1999. It comes to us as a fresh NEW MERCEDES TRADE from Sun Motor Cars in Camp Hill, PA. I would rate the exterior of this Mercedes-Benz to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a good looking automobile. As with any older model, please don't expect it to be perfect. On this specific example, there is a small rust spot visible on the left front fender in front of the wheel directly above the front bumper. There is a light scuff on the left side of the rear bumber and a few minor scratches, ect. as should be expected to be found on a vehicle of this age. The beige finish shines well and looks great all around. There are a few thin spots in the finish, which is expected at this age. All of the chrome trim is intact and shines well. The body lines up nice and straight. The doors, hood and trunk all open/close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a matching set of rubber with good tread all around. The only thing that will need attention on the exterior is the sunroof. It tilts up and closes easily but gets hung up on the back left and does not slide back. It will need adjusted and cleaned to work properly. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how nice this 350SDL is. I would rate the interior of this Mercedes-Benz to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this automobile. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show a few spots and minor wear commensurate with age but show well overall. A full set of floor mats are included. The dash and headliner are clean. The wood veneers show well throughout the interior. The leather seats show minor wear as expected but are in good condition. The only things that will need attention in the interior are the left front window (bad switch, I think) and left rear window (bad regulator, I think). Otherwise, everything works properly. The climate control sytem is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The original Becker cassette deck has been upgraded with an aftermarket CD player. The speakers sound good. There is also a built in K40 SS1000 radar detector. It power up and appears to be working properly...although I'm not sure how to work it properly. It does light up, blink and chirp randomly. The trunk is spacious, clean and houses a full sized spare and tool kit. This Mercedes-Benz also comes with a complete set of books in their original leather case. If you're in the market for a clean, diesel Mercedes...this 350SDL deserves your consideration. Mechanically, this Mercedes-Benz appears to be in excellent running and driving condition. The turbocharged diesel inline six starts easily and runs smoothly. I've been using this 350SDL for the last several months and have personally put the last several thousand miles on it without a single issue. She passed PA safety inspection back in March with flying colors. The glow plugs heat up quickly and start the engine effortlessly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. This 350SDL has excellent road manners. The suspension feels nice and tight all around. In fact, this is the tightest W126 I've ever had. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this sedan with ease. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. There have been no idiot lights on. The only thing that I am aware of that is not working properly is the tachometer. It does not move at all. As you can see from the pictures, the engine compartment looks as clean and dry as can be. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. The engine is smooth, quiet and makes good power. She has a current PA safety inspection good through 03-2015. In the set of owners books, I came across the maintainence booklet that has every page stamped by Sun Motor Cars from new until the book ran out of pages at 180k. Since this has had the same owner since 135k, it is a safe assumption that they would not stop servicing it just because the book ran out of pages. It looks as if this Mercedes-Benz has never missed a service in its life. If you're looking for an older Mercedes diesel, this one deserves your consideration. I've personally driven this Mercedes several thousand miles with no issues and would drive it cross country without hesitation. Please bid with complete confidence. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a fairly rare 1991 Mercedes-Benz 350SDL. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a big Mercedes fan. It is my opinion that a Mercedes-Benz (of the 90's and older) are the best cars on the road. This model comes from a time when a Mercedes-Benz was built to a standard, not a price point. Attention to quality shows throughout every Mercedes-Benz automobile. Among these great vehicles, the diesel cars are the most desirable. The most obvious reason is the increased fuel economy and reliability of a German diesel engine...these are literally million mile capable cars. The most important reason is slightly less obvious. Nobody bought a diesel Mercedes-Benz because it was on sale. They purchased a diesel because they knew exactly what they wanted in a car. The diesel cars went mainly to buyers who knew they were going to put hard miles on a car and wanted the highest standard in reliability without making compromise in luxury. The other diesels went to Mercedes enthusiasts who desired these vehicles for their pedigree and longevity and were buying a vehicle to keep for decades, not until their lease was up or the next greatest gadget came out.
This 350SDL appears to be of the later category given the relatively low mileage ( just over 9,000 miles/year avg.) for the age of the car. This 350SDL has had the same owner since it had just 135k miles on it in 1999. It comes to us as a fresh NEW MERCEDES TRADE from Sun Motor Cars in Camp Hill, PA. I would rate the exterior of this Mercedes-Benz to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a good looking automobile. As with any older model, please don't expect it to be perfect. On this specific example, there is a small rust spot visible on the left front fender in front of the wheel directly above the front bumper. There is a light scuff on the left side of the rear bumber and a few minor scratches, ect. as should be expected to be found on a vehicle of this age. The beige finish shines well and looks great all around. There are a few thin spots in the finish, which is expected at this age. All of the chrome trim is intact and shines well. The body lines up nice and straight. The doors, hood and trunk all open/close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a matching set of rubber with good tread all around. The only thing that will need attention on the exterior is the sunroof. It tilts up and closes easily but gets hung up on the back left and does not slide back. It will need adjusted and cleaned to work properly. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how nice this 350SDL is.
I would rate the interior of this Mercedes-Benz to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this automobile. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show a few spots and minor wear commensurate with age but show well overall. A full set of floor mats are included. The dash and headliner are clean. The wood veneers show well throughout the interior. The leather seats show minor wear as expected but are in good condition. The only things that will need attention in the interior are the left front window (bad switch, I think) and left rear window (bad regulator, I think). Otherwise, everything works properly. The climate control sytem is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The original Becker cassette deck has been upgraded with an aftermarket CD player. The speakers sound good. There is also a built in K40 SS1000 radar detector. It power up and appears to be working properly...although I'm not sure how to work it properly. It does light up, blink and chirp randomly. The trunk is spacious, clean and houses a full sized spare and tool kit. This Mercedes-Benz also comes with a complete set of books in their original leather case. If you're in the market for a clean, diesel Mercedes...this 350SDL deserves your consideration.
Mechanically, this Mercedes-Benz appears to be in excellent running and driving condition. The turbocharged diesel inline six starts easily and runs smoothly. I've been using this 350SDL for the last several months and have personally put the last several thousand miles on it without a single issue. She passed PA safety inspection back in March with flying colors. The glow plugs heat up quickly and start the engine effortlessly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. This 350SDL has excellent road manners. The suspension feels nice and tight all around. In fact, this is the tightest W126 I've ever had. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this sedan with ease. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. There have been no idiot lights on. The only thing that I am aware of that is not working properly is the tachometer. It does not move at all. As you can see from the pictures, the engine compartment looks as clean and dry as can be. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. The engine is smooth, quiet and makes good power. She has a current PA safety inspection good through 03-2015. In the set of owners books, I came across the maintainence booklet that has every page stamped by Sun Motor Cars from new until the book ran out of pages at 180k. Since this has had the same owner since 135k, it is a safe assumption that they would not stop servicing it just because the book ran out of pages. It looks as if this Mercedes-Benz has never missed a service in its life. If you're looking for an older Mercedes diesel, this one deserves your consideration. I've personally driven this Mercedes several thousand miles with no issues and would drive it cross country without hesitation. Please bid with complete confidence. By placing a bid on our auction, you assert that you have read and agree to our Terms & Conditions as well as eBay's Terms & Conditions; you assert that you understand the risks of purchasing a used vehicle; and you assert that you have asked all questions PRIOR to placing your bid. Additionally, you enter into a binding contract to purchase the item they are bidding on should you be the winning bidder.
In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This decision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time, while the auction is live or after the auction closes. The seller may, at its sole discretion, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on this or future auctions.
Winning Bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us via eBay Message within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. Please do not leave a voicemail on the office phone.
Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.
PayPal is not an accepted payment method. This includes Bill Me Later.
We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyer we can issue a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $39 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance.
We offer a unique way of purchasing a vehicle. We sell vehicles to the public with No Reserve auction pricing. Most of the vehicles we sell are trade-ins at new car dealerships or high volume used dealerships in the area. We get a lot of interesting, unique vehicles and many that have minor flaws. We give every vehicle a thorough test drive and a visual inspection and describe what we see and feel to you in our descriptions. We try to provide as thorough and accurate a description as possible as well as including 40-60 photos. Understand however, that we are not professional mechanics and cannot predict the future.
There is additional risk in purchasing a vehicle this way versus buying a vehicle from a retail dealership that has been fully serviced and has a warranty. You will pay considerably less this way, but understand our vehicles are sold AS-IS and do not carry any sort of warranty.
