Vehicle Detail
1970 Volkswagen Convertible Title: Clear Texas Title Mileage: Approx. 42,000, subject to change as I drive it on a daily basis. Note: Mileage is exempt on this vehicle. Body: Color is an electric blue shade, with some minor dents and dings. There are several rust spots ranging from the size of a quarter to the size of a dollar in the usual locations for these cars. This is an older restoration that is still current to stock specifications. The entire floor pan was replaced recently, the frame and undercarraige are good and solid. New convertible top.. Convertible tops are a major expense for these cars. Still has the original AM radio, however it doesn't work. May just need to be connected, not sure. I'm not much of a radio person. All the glass is in great shape, including the rear glass window. Tires are in great shape. Interior: The interior is in great shape, all restored to factory specs. Black vinyl seats and door panels, black carpet. All window cranks work well, dash and steering wheel are in good shape. Instrument cluster is good. Note: speedometer recently stopped working after I had the brakes done, the needle is stuck at 50mph. All other gauges work as they should. The car will pass inspection, i.e. the horn, wipers, signal lights are all in good working order. Mechanical: I believe this to be the original 1600cc 4 cylinder engine. I have religiously maintained this car, oil changed every 3,000 miles and all running gear lubed. She fires up the first time every time. I drive this car 60 miles to work 3 times a week with no problems, very dependable. Clutch is good, 4-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly. Misc: Also included in sale is a convertible boot, orignal spare tire and jack, and other misc parts. Overall, this is a great running and collectible car. This can be a garage queen or daily driver ( I prefer to drive my toys). This car isn't perfect, but she looks and runs great for a 44yr old piece of German history and enginuity. I have done my best to give an accurate account of the of the car's condition. I welcome and encourage any questions or concerns you may have BEFORE bidding. Shipping arrangements will be the responsibility of the winning bidder. I will do my best to assist the shipper of your choice however I can. $500.00 deposit will be due within 24hrs of the close of the auction. This is a true auction with no reserve, as I believe all auctions should be. Highest bidder takes all :) See my feedback, bid with 100% confidence. Note: Vehicle is listed for sale locally as well, subject to prior sale.
