Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1969 Ford Country Sedan Stationwagon. 390 Big Block Ford FE 2bbl Motor and C6 Automatic Transmission. Runs strong and shifts smooth. Odometer shows 35,108. This is the full size Ford based on the Galaxie or LTD platform. I have the full Marti Report for this car, (attached). It has A/C, factory AM-FM Stereo, Power Steering, Power Brakes with Disc in the front, and Power Rear Tailgate Window. The A/C needs to be recharged and the Power Rear Window motor needs a rebuild, ($20 kit, very easy to do). The Tailgate is the dual opening style. It opens to the side like a door, or down like a truck tailgate. This particular car was not ordered with the 3rd Row Seat. The Country Sedan was basically the Country Squire without the wood sides. The car is all original except for a repaint of the original Blue years ago. The interior is blue and all original and in very good shape. The dash pad is cracked which is very common for the '69's, and the front seat bottom has two or three seem rips. The front seat does need two seat brackets that mount the seat to the floor. These were missing when I got the car. The car has had over $6k in mechanical work done already.Brakes and Brake linesMaster CylinderFuel lineStarter and SelenoidCarb rebuildPlug Wires and CapNew Pertronix Electronic Ignition Module, (eliminates the points in the distributor)New Exhaust ManifoldsTop End of the Motor rebuilt including reconditioning the Heads and re-gasketing everything, (head gaskets, intake gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, carb gaskets, valve cover gaskets)The gas tank has a few pin holes in it. I've already had the tank out, it can be removed in less than 10 minutes. I did find a place in PA who will completely refurbish the tank, or it can be soldered. The frame is perfect and untouched. The body mount areas are all solid and intact. As for the body panels, there is some rust. I've included dozens of pictures to show the really nice areas and the problem areas as close-up and detailed as possible. There's fairly minor rust in the lower rear quarters, rear dog legs, and lower edges of the passenger side doors, the front edge of the hood, and the bottom of the tailgate skin. The bottom surface of the doors, (the bottom meaning the surface that faces the ground when the door is open. The area that you can't see unless you get down on the ground and look up), has some rusty areas. The floor of the storage area in the back, (where the 3rd row seat would normally mount), is rusted through, as is the bottom of the spare tire well. These two areas are extremely common rust area's in the '69 and '70 Ford wagons. The rockers on both sides are very nice, and the front fenders are solid and very nice. All in all, this Country Sedan is 100% complete. All of the trim is intact, the factory tinted glass is all perfect, the body is extremely straight with no major dings or dents, (except for one in the very front of the hood), and the bumpers are straight and rust free. All of the lights, inside and out, work. All of the accessories work as they should too, (wipers, blower, switches, knobs, gauges, etc). With a gas tank repair this car can be driving down the road. As far as what's available for new/reproduction parts, just about everything. First, know that the 1969 and 1970 Models were identical except for a few cosmetic trim feature's. Also keep in mind, from the back edge of the rear side doors, all the way to the tip of the front bumper, inside and out, is exactly like the 4 door sedans, including chrome, sheet metal, hood, fenders, doors, glass, grills, bumper, etc, etc. The interior from the back seat forward to the windshield, including the seats, door panels, dash cluster, dash pad, all the switches, duct work, wiring harnesses, gauges, steering wheel, column, etc, etc, ext, is all exactly the same as the 2 Dr Coupe's and Convertible LTD's, Galaxie's, and XL's. There are several different Ford restoration parts catalogs out there as well as a great deal of used and NOS parts always cycling through eBay. As for the rear 'Station Wagon' portion of the car, this Country Sedan is 100% complete and has every piece intact. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking, and good luck
