Vehicle Detail
Great car to keep or use for parts. Engine runs hot. The cylinder heads have been pressure tested and fall within specs. There may be a blockage in the radiator hoses. Needs new battery but starts right up with jump and runs great on a short ride. Grey leather interior, headline, carpets good, no rips; small wear spot on driver's seat. Rocker panels not mounted but have new pair to go with car. Console has simulated wood grain with compass. Rear windshield whipper not working. All other electrical works properly. Will need new tires. Minor dings and wear expected for this year car. Purchased in New England, second owner. Pick up in Torrington, CT only. On Jun-08-14 at 12:46:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional Information Based on Inquiries:Sorry for the delay in responding. I have had many inquiries, both local and on ebay, regarding this listing and will try to clarify for everyone as best I can. Yes, we have maintained the car and have some records: radiator and hoses replaced in Aug. 2010; brake rotors/pads done in Mar. 2011; the exhaust system repaired; exhaust/muffler work Aug. 2010/Oct. 2013. The car is an automatic, runs great when started and shifts smoothly. There is no frame damage that we are aware of on this vehicle. There are pics posted with the listing of the car’s interior. No “trunk” in Subaru Wagon. We have a clear title in hand. No liens on car. This is a 16 year old, New England car. It has very minor surface rust on the body and in the engine compartment for a car this age. Nothing is rusted through the surface or that would effect the performance. The clear coat is worn on the alloy wheels. It is a top-end ,1998 Subaru S Sport Utility which includes alloy wheels, roof rack, ABS, ABW, PW, Tilt Wheel, CC, AC, Power Windows, Leather interior, etc. The parts alone exceed the $500 reserve. The car will need: new battery - it will probably need to be jump-started when/if you come to look at it (I have cables). It does not hold a charge. new rear windshield wiper the engine overheats. we could not pinpoint the problem. it may need a new radiator and/or hoses as the head gasket pressure tested to specs. The radiator fan does turn on when idling but the car will overheat once driven. A head gasket liquid sealer was initially used when we suspected head gasket problems. Flushing the radiator and hoses may, or may not, resolve the overheating. I would not recommend driving the car any distance. It should be towed. The buyer is responsible for making pick-up or shipping arrangements. If you choose to drive the car off the premises we will not be responsible for any problems. The car is being sold as-is. It can be seen the rest of today, Sunday, 6/8 between 4 and 9 pm. Please check your email I sent for phone number/location/address. I hope this helps. Thank you for your interest and good luck in your bidding and search.
