Vehicle Detail

MERCEDES BENZ 220 Sb1964 SEDAN This car is offered as is where is. It is located near Quakertown Pa. Out side of Philadelphia. It has been garage kept but, in storage, unregistered, unused since the late 90s. It was kept running until about 10 years ago when the battery failed. It is offered with a clear Pa title. The engine was replaced with a rebuilt one and the dual carburetors were rebuilt and setup not too long before he parked it. The owner claims it ran great when he parked it. We did put a battery in it and some gas. It took a minute to get gas up there but, it started and ran. After a few minutes it smoothed out and even idled. We took it out and turned it around but, not out on the road. It should be gone over, tuned up and inspected before it is driven. It does need some body work. Since it was garage kept, the work is not unreasonable for this great Classic Mercedes. You can see the details in the pictures below. It has an aftermarket ac unit that does work! The original radio does not work. There is another radio in the car. It comes with the jack, tools and a spare tire. Also some spare parts in the trunk. It has 4 good tires. I saw no sign of dry rot on any of th tires. You can see the interior is in need of a good detailing. There are some small tears on the seats and the rugs are rough. Mostly the interior is not bad. I think you will agree this is a very restorable car. If you have trouble with the pictures try using the reload or refresh button on your browser. The tires needed air but have been holding air for 2 weeks now. It was garage kept. You can see it has all 4 hubcaps. There is some rust around the headlight areas and behind the wheels on the rocker panels abd quater panels. Overall it is not real bad compared to some of these older Mercedes Benz! The bottom had been under coated at some point. We looked under the car and did not see any bad rust. We did not have it on a lift however. Overall this car is about 16 feet long and 6 feet wide. The rear bumper has a few dents. Below you can see the back up lights are stuck on. The motor is idling in the picture. You can see it is fairly clear exhaust, although, it did smoke a bit on start up after sitting for ten years. I have to say the engine and dual carburetors look and sound well maintained. The engine started as soon as it got fuel. It did run rough for a few minutes until the engine started to warm up and circulate all the fluids. I thought it went smoothly for a car that sat for that long. The engine is the second engine for this car. The transmission had been rebuilt. It is holding fuel, water and oil. After idling for about 20 minutes and turning the car around on the same spot we found no dips or wet spots on the pavement afterwards. No automotive DNA! The dual carbs were set up back in the 90s while the car was still on the road. You can see they are still pretty clean looking. You can see this car is very complete. We found few if any missing parts. In fact there are extra parts in the trunk! The wheel wells are not bad! No daylight anyway! Below you can see some of the spare parts. The interior needs some detailing and some work. It is pretty nice to start with. Very complete. We have lots more pictures of the interior if you email or use the ebay message system. Below you can see the control cluster with the car running. Please ask any questions you may have. I will try to answer them. Shipping is your responsibility. Pick up is free.
