unmolested since its birth in October 1975. The R90s is a true icon of the BMW motorcycling world. This year is the 40th anniversary of this machine. The bike is all original except the rear shocks and Karcoma 90 degree petcocks which have been replaced. The original shocks are available for rebuilding if you so desire. The bike is in original Silver Smoke TT color with a couple of small dings on the tank that are too small to photograph. It is not a perfect bike but an original piece of history. The items that will need to be addressed before any long distance touring would be: Front springs and/or fork oil change Oil changes front to rear using synthetic which is in there now The good about the bike: 1. It is a true original motorcycle from 1976 2. Runs like a top 3. Looks great 4. Has all the original equipment including tool kit, owner's manual, shop rag and tire pump 5. The bike has 2 original Krauser bags 6. The bike has 49k original miles. The original speedometer was replaced as it was inoperable but is included with the sale and is repairable. The bad about the bike: 1. The rear rack has cracked the rear cowl (see pic) 2. There are several small dings in the tank 3. The tank pinstripe is wearing thin (still there) 4. The left muffler is rusting inside at the baffle, the exterior is perfect. Can easily be fixed 5. Clock doesn't work but is shiny bright white 6. The left hand control is missing the on/off light switch >p>
