Item Description: All original Weekender camping equipment including pop top canvas, curtains, bug screens, lighting and powered cooler in good working condition. Complete original owner’s manual also included. Heated front seats, 6 CD changer, Weather Tech window deflectors, Yakima rack mounts, full custom fit floor mats, 2” receiver hitch with trailer wiring, permanently mounted fan in “living” area, and blind spot mirrors. Goodyear Assurance tires with serviceable tread depth. Dealer serviced on schedule about every 5 thousand miles with complete service history. The van is mechanically in good shape, no issues or warning lights and it was just serviced very recently. There are a few minor mostly cosmetic issues. This is not a complete list. I’ve tried to show what I could in the photos but it can be hard to get things to show up. · Small rust spot inside passenger door near hinge. · Small rust spot around driver’s side windshield wiper. · Small rust spot at rear of driver’s side front wheel well. · Rear most driver’s side glass scratched (artwork by a 3 year old child) · Minor dings and scratches from 12 years of grocery store parking lots, etc. · Metal ignition key does not open doors. Use fob to enter and there are extra door keys. · Superficial crack in drivers headlight · Vulnerable front door speaker grills repaired several times · One child “gate” clip broken on top bunk · Very slow air loss drivers side rear tire, no obvious damage to tire or wheel · Driver’s seat arm rest occasionally loosens and moves back out of range · Removable center row seat difficult to latch into place. · Camper top seal needs glueing. · Handle on removable panel to under seat storage broken off. · Key scratches have been touched up on driver’s side rear panel and tailgate. · One drink holder not original, but a fairly close match. · Right roof hinge sometimes sticks coming down. Needs to be “bumped” into place. · Rear bumper cover portion was replaced and painted to match in 2003. Policies: Winning bidder should contact me at 630-457-0416 after the auction close to make final arrangments. This is a private party sale. The van is sold as-is, where is. Final payment must be made before vehicle will be allowed to leave. Shipping arrangements must be made by the buyer but I can work with your shipping agent on scheduling. Shipping and insurance are the responsibility of the buyer. All applicable taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Feedback Policy: I will leave positive feedback for all successfully completed transactions and ask winning bidders to please do the same for me. Please contact me before leaving negative feedback. I do my best to describe and photograph all items accurately and will respond promptly to all questions. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool. Please call 630-457-0416 if you'd like to make an appointment to inspect the van prior to the auction closing. Note that I will not accept any offers to sell outside eBay. Also note that the title transfer will be made in the buyer's name accompanied with a bill of sale. I will not leave the "Assignment of Title" field blank. Thanks for looking! On May-20-14 at 07:08:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I meant to post this response to an earlier question but missed checking the box. I thought it might be helpful to anyone that is not as familiar with these vans. The question was, "Does this model have a kitchen?" Dear wolfieneve, By definition, Weekender models don't have a kitchen. The Full Camper models converted by Westfalia and imported by Volkswagen were available in the early 90s. Later, Winnebago started importing long wheel base commercial Eurovans and converting them here in the states. Only the Weekender models were available from VW/Westfalia from then on. The models both have pros and cons depending on your intended use. Weekenders are better as daily drivers. With the top down, you'd barely know it was a camper at all except for the really cool seating arrangement in the back and the powered cooler under one of the seats. Also, it seats 7 so it's great as a "soccer mom mobile" or "party bus." Campers have full camping equipment like a miniature RV, with propane, water holding tanks, 3-way fridge, etc. Only thing they are missing is a toilet. But they are heavier, "clunkier" and only seat 4. My father owned a Winnebago converted full camper which I drove a lot. This is my second Weekender. I also owned and restored a 1985 Vanagon Wolfsburg Edition. I prefer the Weekenders for their everyday versatility. I should also note that the 1999 - 2003 models were the first in many generations of VW campers to have sufficient power with the VR6 2.8L engines. Earlier models always seemed underpowered for their relative size and weight. - beemerfan1On May-23-14 at 15:39:30 PDT, seller added the following information: All the Memorial Day car sales going on at my local dealerships have inspired me to lower the reserve on this auction. The reserve price is now well below the Kelly Blue Book "Private Party" sale value for a van in much lesser condition than this one. Only serious bidders please. Be prepared to purchase if you place a bid this weekend. You may be surprised by the price. Happy Bidding! On May-25-14 at 11:41:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Just lowered the "Buy It Now" price again. Anyone looking to avoid the last minute bidding drama should take note, the van is now priced below market value. Those of you researching the price and "scratching your head" over the difference in the Kelley Blue Book and NADA consumer site values may not be familiar with the following. Kelley Blue Book gathers it's pricing data from a wide variety of sources. The NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association) which represents mostly new car dealerships takes only its member's sales data into account. So how many of these have you seen for sale on your local car dealer's lot? Now you see my point. These vans nearly all change hands in auctions, private party sales or at small specialty dealerships that may not bother reporting data to the NADA. So the likelyhood of being able to purchase one at the NADA value is practically non-existent.Happy Bidding!
