The pipes and baffles are pretty much completely gone. I was going to put one on, but (A) I wanted to save up for a TriFlo, and (2) it sounds really good as it is right now! Not too loud, but it's got a nice deep/throaty grunt to it. The front spoiler is cracked. It's fixable (according to the body shop I brought it to for an estimate) but I was holding off until I figured out what I wanted to do with the car. When I had the belts done the shop said that the radiator had a small leak on the top. I haven't noticed it though. I've been driving the car for the past week and the temperature gauge is right where it should be, and the coolant level hasn't moved. The cruise control works when it wants to. I bought this a year or so ago. It has a rare combo of heated front seats, and a center arm rest in the rear. I converted it from an automatic to a standard, putting in a new clutch, slave cylinder, timing belt, water pump, plugs, wires, new a/c, etc. It has 77k original miles (carfax included), and literally every single thing on this car works as it should. I just took it up to Boston a few weeks ago and it got me 28mpg (without a/c) / 25mpg with. The a/c blows ice cold (38 degrees), the heat blows hot, the windows and roof work as they should. The windshield is still the original windshield, with the BMW logo in the corner. The next thing on my 'to-do' list was going to be the bodywork. There are 2 major rust spots, and a few miscellaneous dents and dings. The biggest spot is under the runner on the drivers side. The second spot is underneath the corner of the windshield. There's a gash in the drivers side rear fender-well, where someone must've backed into it in a parking lot. (I filled it with oem touch up paint, so unless you're right on top of it, it's really not that noticeable.) The drivers seat is in about the condition you'd expect it to be for being a 27 year old car, and as per the usual, the dash has the typical cracks in it. (Nothing a dash-cover from Bavarian Autosport can't fix!) From a distance the car looks great, and mechanically speaking I'd trust it to drive cross-country any day. If I kept it, my plan was to have it completely restored and painted in Alpine White 3 (it's a brighter, poppier version of what's on it now, but still an oem bmw color). The estimate I got was about $2500 including all the bodywork, fixing the front spoiler/air dam, and paint (including door jams, strut towers, and under the hood and trunk.) I don't expect to recoup what I've spent (I'm into this car for around 9k between the cost of the car itself, and all the upgrades/repairs) and I really don't want to sell it - I've got so much into it . (Personal reasons force the sale.) I'm keeping the cupholder, but I have 2 other 14" wheels that can be included for no additional charge. The tires are good, the rims need straightening - good for spares. Please email any questions you have and I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks for looking!
