1931 Model A Pickup Restoration was just finished on a late 1931 Model A pickup. Everything was restored or replaced. Pickup has an indented firewall and a wide bed. Body The body is all original except fiberglass fenders and a 1932 grill. Bed is oak. The body paint is Lombard blue with black fenders and running boards. Interior The interior is custom leather “tastefully” done. The original dash, gauges, steering column and steering wheel were restored. The original light switch was also restored. The rear of the seat was installed so that a little more leg room was achieved. Frame and Suspension The original frame was used with a front dropped axle (4”) and a reverse posi rear spring to lower the rear 2 ½”. The wheels are 16” with 6.00 on the front and 6.50 on the rear with 1941 Ford hydraulic brakes. The truck has an aluminum radiator with an overflow tank. Engine The engine is a recently rebuilt Model A. The engine has a Model B cam, Model A “B” head (rare), Weber carburetor, electric fuel pump, cast iron header, alternator (12 volt) and FSI electronic ignition. The engine serial number matches the Missouri title and the number on the frame. Transmission The transmission is a Ford F150 four speed (4th gear is an overdrive). The transmission is connected to the stock 3:78 rear via an open drive shaft.
