Vehicle Detail
Greetings-and thank you for viewing this offering. This is my last Volvo and I hate to offer it---but here it is. Offered is my 1972 Volvo 1800ES in the rarest color offered in 1972--- and only 1972-- color code 109. Volvo called this color Green Ocean Mist and it is my favorite color of those that were available. Currently, there are only 6 registered in Karl Erics fine volvo1800pictures dot com website.Mine is even more unusual in that it is an A/C car w/ Automatic transmission. For what it is worth---I have not seen a single 109 coupe or sport wagon offered on ebay in the last 5 years. I bought this car in San Diego, California and the original blue plate and title are pictured. Unfortunately, I have not had the time or resources to work on the car much---and that has factored in my decision to offer it. This car is unrestored and deserves to be. My plan was to switch the auto transmission for a manual w/ overdrive conversion. There is a bone yard in town that has the parts needed to do this and if wanted --I can provide his contact number to the buyer. The car ran when I purchased it---and will need a weekend of fiddling to get it going again. The issue came up of rust particulate in the gas tank that clogged the injectors. I had the tank cleaned and repaired the sending unit. The lines need an air hose cleaning and the injectors need to be cleaned as well. The interior is original and the blue seats were added to match a surfboard I have. Both sets of seats are included. Also included is a spare drivers mirror, fan shroud, spare tire, tachometer, and some various small items. It would be nice to replace the interior to match the outside appearance and perhaps a color change to Black or white might be a possibility. I suppose dying the interior black might work......... The engine bay is all original. Also included is additional paint to re-paint the engine bay. The paint on the car is nice but not heroic or show quality. My impression is the car was kept running over the years---but has not been restored. My asking price represents a significant financial loss--- however it is a nice opportunity for someone that has the time and resources. The car is being offered as a project car needing time and resources to either get to driver status or if desired a foundation for a proper full restoration. As such the car is offered in as is / found condition. If you take this to a Volvo show---you will be the only one there with this rare color. I am at 1-321-749-7257 for any questions, discussions ,or enlightenment. Thank you !
