Vehicle Detail
Fun for the whole family, on road and off road; A stylish and retro 1960's Dune buggy. This blast from the past "Manx" style buggy has been in a local barn for quite some time, and is now a great little driver that needs very minor work. The car runs excellent, with it's 1300CC single port motor, and shifts well with the manual 4 speed transmission. Fires right up, hot or cold and will get you from point A to point B, making a ton of smiles on the way there. Although it does have its minor flaws and defects, it is a real survivor. It is sitting atop a 1961 Beetle pan that is in amazing shape, and has never been patched. The car carries a clean California title, and is currently registered. The motor runs very well, and needs no adjustments. There are no leaks, and it doesn't smoke. The brakes have been gone through in the front, and the flexible lines and wheel cylinders have been replaced. Transmission shifts great, the clutch grabs firmly, and doesn't chatter. The front suspension is the "adjustable beam style" and is very tight, aside from the steering box having a little slop, it is still completely drivable. The paint and body show very well, and still wears its original gel coat paint. The nose has been bumped and was repaired a while ago. Body work was done ok, but not great. There are a few minor scratches on the vehicle, but for a survivor, looks very cool, a true barn find. Removable hard-top is included with the vehicle, and helps give some shade during those hot summer evenings. The car is equipped with windshield wipers, unlike most other buggies, so winter driving is possible too. The windscreen has a crack through it, luckily it comes out very easily and is completely flat. All in all, a very fun car for a very cheap price. The pan is extremely solid, and the mileage on the stock V.W odometer appear to be accurate, showing 21,247 original miles on the motor and chassis. The title is clean and clear, and can be driven right when you receive this retro ride. Should have a general look-over, as the tires in front should be replaced.
