I am selling my 1975 Suzuki RE-5 motorcycle. This bike has been lovingly restored - frame off, and runs great. I have receipts for all parts that I have purchased for the restoration. It was taken completely down to bare metal, all the aluminum was polished, all seals have been replaced except for what is inside the engine.Compression is goodBattery is newThe paint is not original, but very close and I have extra paint. The gas tank has been sealedTires are newThe CDI has been re-built with new capacitorsComes with two original oil filters and a spare spark plug (hard to find)The bike has a little bit of hesitation when the secondary opens, which I believe would be resolved by a carburetor adjustment. If it has been sitting awhile there is some smoke on start up, but it clears very quickly. I'm including two pictures of the restoration so you can get an idea of how major of a restoration it was. I have a full set of restoration pictures that I can give you if you want at purchase. What's bad about the bike: The chrome for the turn signals is fake spray on chrome. The ring around the headlight was rusted out on the bottom, and so I filled it with body filler and painted it, so the headlight ring is fake chrome as well. A little bit of rust on the chrome of the rear fender, which steel wool should clean up. The chrome was not triple plated chromed, but looks good. The seat is original, and has a two inch long tear at the back - see picture. There is a little bit of a hitch in the steering - not bad at all, but a minor annoyance. I have replacement races and bearings - all parts have purchased from Rotary Recycle. The master cylinder was the last NOS in the United States. How cool is that? The calipers have been re-built.
