Up today is a 1956 Ford Customline that has seen over 450,000 safe driving miles here in the south since my great uncle Danny bought it when he was 15. It has been to many a country show with "Country Boy Eddie" since my uncle toured and played with him for over 20 years. The picture with him in it by the river in Memphis; Elvis is supposedly hiding behind the shadow of the "B" pillar since he frequently sneaked out of Graceland under the cover of my uncle's car to get a break. This car has all the original chrome put up and it has extra doors and a trunk lid. The engine is a 351 Cleveland and it is married up to a C6 transmission. The suspension was put on new several years ago along with the differential but it was never driven anywhere. It has been several years since he has had it running, but I bet with a little love this beauty will roar back to life. He recently turned the engine over by hand and we checked the oil last time I was over and there wasn't a bit of contaminants. The interior is black diamond tuck seats and he had custom gauges since he broke off the speedometer hand off twice because it only registered 120 MPH. The engine and transmission came out of a totaled brand new 1974 Ford Cougar with only 6 miles on it!! Now the bad; the body is kind of rough because of sitting outside. The tires air up in the front, but leak down slowly. The car also needs some interior work like door panels and carpet.
