Vehicle Detail
1979 Ford BroncoPlow Truck Looking for an old classic Bronco that can be a top off summer cruiser as well as a winter snow plowing machine? Here you go!This rig runs great and is ready to go. The Good NewsThis Bronco has a great 302 V8 engine that the previous owner claims is a performance crate engine from Jegs. It has an Edelbrock intake. MSD Electronic Ignition. Ford Racing valve covers. It's a healthy runner that sounds great. It has a 4 speed manual transmission that has the granny gear. This rig is geared low and as such it can move some serious snow with the Western Snow Plow. The plow was installed just 3 years ago. I had a nice gauge package installed below the dash 2 years ago (oil pressure/temp/voltage). It has had a new starter and alternator in the last year. I had a hose heater installed less than 6 months ago. A frame receiver hitch and new flat wiring plug were installed also at that time. The Motorcraft carb has been rebuilt with a manual choke installed. New cables have been installed on the Western Snow Plow--which works great. A new toggle switch was installed for the snow plow running lights--which work great. Most of the exhaust system is new, and it sounds great. Hoses and belts are around 2 years old. Nice Optima battery is 2-3 years old. Rear seat is in good shape, and I have the passenger side seat (that's in even better shape than the drivers seat); I took it out so it would be easier to load my 3 kids in and out of the back seat. New power steering hose. New rear brakes. New wheel bearings. New pinion seals. New spark plugs. New battery cables. Inside floors coated in POR-15. I've always run full synthetic oil in it. The motor, tranny, and all drivetrain are in "drive-anywhere" condition. The Bad NewsThe body does have filler in it. This is not a Pebble Beach Concourse vehicle. But it's also not that bad. See the pictures--I'm not hiding anything. There are bubbles on the bottom of the tailgate and above the rear wheels. Bubbles can also be found at the bottom behind where the door shuts and a few on the driver's side of the cowl. The previous owner said that Duraglas was used on it when body work was done years ago. The floors have a lot of Duraglas in them, but feel solid. There are a few small open holes in the floor, maybe the size of a fifty cent piece or silver dollar. The tires are pretty weather checked. They all hold air perfectly, and I have taken this on long trips, but they are cracked. They still have enough tread that it plows very well, though. The rear tailgate is missing all of the "guts" inside of it. I have the window "jerry rigged" up with some rope. There is no keyed opener on the exterior of the tailgate to open it--it only opens from the inside with the window lowered and the inside handle pulled. The front passenger side turn signal housing is partially missing, although the lights seem to work fine. The door weather stripping needs to be reinstalled. The gas gauge reads 3/4 when it is full. The speedometer is running slowly--35 when you're really going 55--perhaps running the big tires (31's) is throwing that off a bit. The front clip is in primer. There is no radio, although I do have the antenna. The LogisticsPlease contact me before bidding if you have a Feedback rating below 5. Failure to do so may cause your bid to be cancelled. Deposit due within 24 hours of auction's close. Full payment due within a week. Could you drive it home if you live 1,000 miles away? Yes, I would trust it. However, if I were taking it on a 1,000 mile road trip I would put better tires on it.Enjoy the auction! On Apr-06-14 at 21:52:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for all of the messages about the Bronco! In case you're wondering about the exact tire size, they are 33 / 12.50 / 15. Thanks & bid to win! This one has a lot of life left in it! On Apr-11-14 at 18:19:32 PDT, seller added the following information: **Couple things to add: Just drove the Bronco to work today. She's running great! The windshield washer squirter doesn't seem to be working. Also, when filling it up with gas, it's best not to fill it over 95% full. I think the Filler tube at the top by the gas tank door may have a crack in it, and if you fill the tank 100% full, it will drip a little. Both of these would be easy fixes, or just use it as is. Thanks! Enjoy the auction!
