Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE. This car has been my project car since August of 2011. I like rebuilding cars. This car was in good mechanical condition, but was in sorry cosmetic shape, it is beautiful inside and out now. The list of work I have done fills many, many, posts on M3F. I know what I am doing, and I do it right, I have the means and I enjoy doing the work. The suspension has been completely rebuilt (finished March 2013) with all OEM rubber and every AKG reinforcement there is (RTABS, Rear Sway, Motor mounts). She rides on Koni SA and HR OE Sports. This is the BEST street suspension setup for the car. You can spend lots of money on coil overs but unless you are ready for near professional racing you probably can't do better. You will not have to spend a dime on the suspension for the next several years. The tires have less than 10K miles on them. The AC blows very cold. The only niggling problem is the dreaded seat belt sensor light from the SRS. I replaced the sensor with a brand new one and problem persists. The light goes out after a minute or so. I chased it down for a few hours and after reading around the M3 forums about people that have had this particular demon for years I let it go. I don't really believe 20 year old airbags are going to function properly anyway. (I work with explosives for a living and have good reason to question this) I have not had a CEL in the last 18 months. The engine runs great and the leak down numbers are all less than 3%. I was shocked at how low they were. The cooling system was completely rebuilt in 2011, including VSL Rad,Stewart Pump and all new hoses. The engine exhales through AA headers (not cheap e-bay knockoffs) Turner hi-flow cats and AA cat back exhaust. The valve cover has been powder coated. She has a Euro intake box with 3.5" MAF with Dinan tune. Headlights are glass euro bosch units. The biggest problem with the car is the odometer, it read 203K miles. I expect the car to go much further. I have committed to buying a Lotus Elise so my M3 has to go.
