I have a 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T. It was originally a 383 engine 727 automatic trans car. It has a 383 (non-numbers matching) engine of unknown condition under the hood and needs a transmission and parts for the rear end (has a 8&3/4 rear end, spindles are intact but missing the bell house gear). The body work and paint were done by the previous owners (a dealership that builds classic mopars) in 2007. It appears to have a very straight and solid body. The trunk has new metal welded in, along with some parts of the flooring. The paint job is average- looks good (does have a few areas that could be touched up). The vin tag on the dash is intact, however, the fender tag is missing (lost some where in body & paint work). I have been unable to locate the broadcast sheet (could still be in the car, have not checked under seat springs). Due to these issues this would probably best be a tribute or resto-mod project. There are several companies offering modern suspensions and drive trains and all parts for restoration are available. I have replacement front headlight bezels, headlight trim rings, all turn signals and housings, new antenna, door handles, trunk lid (painted great shape), upper portion of back seat, fuel chrome housing, fuel filler neck, all glass (except windshield will need replaced has crack), all exterior window trim, interior metal trim, another console, dash duct work, magnum 500 wheels, and several other goodies. Parts to still get are engine rebuilt/ replaced, trans, rear end (parts or replace) the interior replacement plastic panels and seats covers, heater box, carpet, headliner, everything in the engine bay installed, drivers side chrome ring for grill, the front & rear lower valances have some minor damage (could repair or replace), I would get new brake and fuel lines, a fuel tank, and exhaust. The pictures don't do the car justice it needs washed (layer of dirt on it) also the underbody coating is starting to peel in some areas (things are solid underneath- including frame rails)
