Vehicle Detail

1967 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE Richard Petty #43 tribute car 1967 was a milestone year for Richard Petty. In that year, Petty won 27 of the 48 races he entered, including a record 10 wins in a row (between August 12 and October 1, 1967). He won his second Grand National Championship. One of the 27 victories was the Southern 500 at darlington, which would be his only Southern 500 victory. His dominance in this season earned him the nickname "King Richard" This car started life as an original "H" code 383 big block car 1 of only 2,232 built by Plymouth in 1967. It can easily be turned back to stock if that is what you wanted to do. I am told it is still the original motor by the previous owner but have not confirmed that, if that is a big deal to you let me know I will crawl under it an look for the numbers. The car was just painted and the graphics are all fresh. It is a good driver quality job not a $15,000 paint job the paint shines nice. The interior has new seat covers, carpets, headliner, dash cover, stereo and speakers. Under the hood is a stock 383 4 barrel that runs and drives good, its not a race motor just a stock engine. It has a vintage style NASCAR air cleaner directly from the Petty driving school cars. Along with a new aluminum radiator. I have not had it on any distance trips just through the neighborhood and local. The brakes have new shoes, hardware and wheel cylinders on all four corners, plus new rubber hoses up front. The tires are brand new all around. This car still needs finishing before being taken on any long trips. A few of the things it need are as follows; it needs the kickdown linkage adjusted the previous owner put a performer RPM intake on it that sits higher than stock so it throws the kickdown linkage out of whack. It needs a valve cover gasket on the pass side it leaks when the car gets up to temp. It needs a ground strap on the gas guage the gauge is not working and it needs a bushing on the pass side window it wiggles when you roll it up and down. It also needs exhaust it has two cherry bombs hanging and it is loud. Once you go thru these small things it will be a cool car. Don't expect a $100,000 barret jackson restoration for this price, but it is a great starting point that is almost finished. A lot of the hardwork is already done and with a few more $$$ and some time will be a great car. This car stops traffic when I pull it out on the drive way, I have had tons of people taking photos standing next to it (living in mooreville NC "race city USA" even the young kids on bicycles riding by know who Richard Petty is) it would be perfect parked out front of a Bar or barbucue joint. take a good look at the photos and ask all questions before bidding. I do have the car for sale locally so this auction may end at any time. BE A BIDDER, NOT A WATCHER this is a cool ride for cheap money dont miss out. I have a clear NC title in my name it is my own car I am not a dealer. Please be sure to read and agree to the auction terms and conditions below before bidding. On Mar-22-14 at 14:18:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I CHECKED THE BLOCK STAMP TODAY, IN 1967 MOPAR DID NOT USE A VIN NUMBER STAMPED ON THE BLOCK 1968 WAS THE FIRST YEAR FOR VIN STAMPS. IT DOES HAVE THE CORRECT "C" 383 STAMP ON IT FOR A 1967 383 ENGINE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ORIGINAL MOTOR BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND HE SEEMED VERY HONEST WHEN HE SOLD ME THE CAR. THANK YOU!
