Vehicle Detail

2001 Honda XR650-R Liquid Cooled Dirt Bike Dual Purpose Street Legal. Not the Lower Powered air cooled "L" model. Low miles Never Raced or Abused by me a 70 year old fussy Motorcycle Enthusiast. Many options and extras added to make this bike better.********PLEASE NOTE**********PLEASE NOTE***********PLEASE NOTE********************** EBAY makes me put something in the mileage block but I do not know the true actual mileage because it was not delivered with an odometer and the electronic Speedo/Odo was installed at a later date. I am disclosing this to any prospective purchaser as I do not wish to misrepresent the miles. True Unknown. Added Items: Vapor Trail-Tech Digital Speedometer, Tachometer, H2O Temperature Gauge with High temp and Over Temp alarms/lights, Odometer, Trip Meter, Ride Timer, LCD Display backlit, and more. Rack for carrying your junk, Baja Designs Complete Street Legal Kit to include Horn, Directional Signals (very short stems to help prevent breaking), Headlight, Tail light, Stop light, High/Low Beam Switch and Indicator. Baja Designs Seat. Had remained box stock until last year and because I was having such difficulty starting the thing and I read about the best cure. Evidently they have a reputation for being hard to start and as I got older it was increasing in difficulty, so after I read and read about it, the remedy was to “UNCORK” it. I wasn’t looking for more power as it was already way too powerful as it was for me; however the re-jetting cures that hard start problem. Yesterday after sitting for 2 months started on the FIRST kick and that is normal. I found out Honda who had offered a "Uncork Kit" originally, no longer offers it as a kit but does sell all the parts individually. I also found that ownership is almost a “cult” and the owners are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about this model Honda. They have a web-site that lists all the PN’s as those are not listed in the regular parts book. WOW ! If I’d known how easy it would make it start I would have done it a lot earlier plus……. A TREMENDOUS INCREASE in power that I did not need but it really woke up this motor. Power you feel immediately and even down low. Serviced just performed, includes the following: Fresh oil and filter chg (Full Synthetic), New RV Racing Chain, New Sprockets Front and Rear to change the gear ratio. Went from a 48T rear to a 53T, stayed stock on front 14T but replaced all at the same time. I didn’t need a 100 MPH dirt bike, also I am not a desert racer instead I ride in the woods and "plunking" around on narrow trails the stock gearing was too high, either I was having to ride faster than I was comfortable or slip the clutch some in 1st gear, neither was acceptable to me hence the sprocket chg, plus New chain adjuster Bolts because I am picky. New rear tire (actually it may have 20 miles). New Honda Thermostat and "O" ring gasket. New front brake pads. Fresh flush and replenish of the coolant. New upgraded 21 PSI Radiator Cap. Fresh Spark Plug & Complete Carb O/H with new Jets (Part of the Uncorking), Modified Air Cleaner as per Honda recommendation in the Kit along with the Uncorking of the Muffler. The muffler is still “Forestry Approved” as it retains the spark arrester but the part of the muffler that is restrictive is history. I have all the old parts that go with the bike. I am sure I’ve left off some things but the picture shows the MC very accurately and I showed the scratches in the left side cover from me getting a tad too close to an obstacle. Those are mainly in the decal and available from Honda but I sort of liked keeping those as a reminder to be careful. I need that more lately. Selling for two reasons. I no longer have any friends to ride in the woods and I won’t go alone as it is too dangerous (like Scuba Diving you need a partner). And …It is really too much for me now. I am selling a couple more motorcycles and at least one car. A Pristine Museum Quality Kaw GPz 750 Turbo and a MX5 Miata PRHT. I have included a few photos unrelated to this ad but shows some of the "toys" and why I'm selling also that I like nice stuff and take extra good care of things. Please call or email me with any questions. Can ship it anywhere but of course that’s your responsibility and all funds need to be in my bank before it leaves under any circumstances. Or bring USD Cash when you pick up. I just want a straight up kinda guy to buy it without any funny stuff. “This ain’t my first Rodeo.” Actually I have had very good luck selling on EBAY please ck my feedback score. If after you purchase and come pick up, if this motorcycle description was not accurate ...you don't have to take it I'll simply give you your money back. You will not leave disappointed, believe me I have bought plenty and left a bunch there. I know what that is like and will not do it to you. Please check my feedback and please call me, no questions are unimportant. No trades, scams or games please. Clean clear Texas title goes with the bike. Needs nothing but a new owner, Owner’s Manual, Shop Manual, Title in Hand. As of tonight Sunday PM I am lowering the reserve as the current bid is very close and I want to sell it on this first listing and go do something else. Bid to win from now on. Regards Mike On Mar-17-14 at 16:30:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Okay I have just lowered my reserve to less than I really wanted but I'm hopeful that the real buyers will see "reserve not made" disappear and then you will know that if you are the highest bidder you will own it. I think the next bid will make that happen so only bid if your wife says it is ok for you to actually have a motorcycle like this. BE CAREFUL Now Bid to win Thx Mike
