Vehicle Detail
Wife says it must go. My loss your gain. History:I picked up this truck about 6 months ago online sight unseen. When the truck arrived, it was everything that was advertised, it ran and drove, but after a bit the engine would start to sound like a Diesel even though the truck is a GAS engine. I began my research and didn't like what I found. This issue could be caused by 1000 different things. I like my projects and a good mystery, so I began replacing parts to find the problem.First up, New Cam solenoids and an oil change. No real change.Next I cleaned the MAF and throttle body, nothing so I replaced the MAF.Next came some new spark plugs and coils. It got better for a while, but soon the same issue. The big job I was dreading the Cam phasers, timing chain, and chain guides (another oil change). This made the engine much better, but it still wasn't great and now after about and hour of running I would loose some power between 1200 -- 1700 rpm. Also the battery wasn't charging. I then in a new alternator and battery for good measure and change the oil again. Everythign would run the same as before. On Jan 25 I was making a run to Home Depot as I turned the corner it didn't have much go. Like it was in limp mode. It made it another 2 block before it stalled in the Home depot parking lot and this time it wouldn't start. After 6 months and over $6,500 invested. My wife's patience for me working on and putting money in to this truck has ended. I have another truck so this is not worth the fight. That's right. I have over $6,500 invested and I am giving it away. In running order it is worth $8,000This is a Solid honest 2004 Ford F-150 Extended cab 4x4, with the 5.4l Triton V8 gas engine. It has 206,000 miles on it. It has its dents and flaws in the pictures. The engine will turn over, but it won't start.
