Hello. You are bidding on a 1971 Camaro RS project. This is a Los Angeles built Camaro that has spent its life on the West Coast. It hasn`t seen the road since 2004 and has been stored indoors since then. It is a true RS not a clone, and appears to still retain all original born with body panels. It looks to have a single repaint over original paint other than the primer spots you see in the pics. Overall a very solid car. Condition is as follows.. Interior: The pics pretty much say it all. New carpet kit, The interior is good driver quality showing wear. Headliner is in good shape with one minor puncture. Obviously needs a new dash pad and gauge bezel. Steering column is tight. Drivetrain: Low miles on a rebuilt 71 date coded 350 with fuelie heads. Runs good and fires right up, but again has been sitting since `04 so I suggest a complete tuneup. Edelbrock carb was just rebuilt and new sparkplugs intalled. Was converted to HEI by previous owner, distributor was new at that time. Valve cover gaskets were just replaced as well. Antifreeze looks great. Alternator has low miles. Transmission shifts great. Clutch feels great and has no chatter. This is not an original 4 speed car. U joints are tight. Car stops ok but I suggest bleeding the old fluid and it does need rear brake shoes. Rear end doesn`t whine or howl. It is the original 8.5 ten bolt to the car. Suspension was rebuilt by previous owner and is tight, but needs an alignment. Power steering works great. Spend a weekend doing minor odds and ends and this can be a dependable driver for you. Actual mileage is approximate, the car is in storage so I wasn`t able to look at the odometer before listing. Body: Solid West Coast car that needs minor bodywork around the car and has all GM panels. Not a rust or bondobucket, no bent or buckled framerails. I have taken pics of any body damage that needs repaired and will describe them to you. Roof and window channels/dash are nice. Floors and trunk are super solid as well as the trunk extensions. Doors hang and shut good as does the decklid. No rust in trunk or doorjambs. Glass is good. The rear corners of the car and around the taillight panel doesn`t look to have ever been hit. Pinhole rust just starting on the lower rear quarter panels. Note the minor damage on the wheelwell lips, but otherwise they are solid. The damage behind the passengers door is as you see it and the only real serious damage to the body. The old paint was removed and has just has a quik coat of primer over it, no bondo. Other than that, the rest of the body needs minor dent repair only. If you are looking for a solid driver originally from the West Coast, this is it. Yes, it needs a cosmetic restoration, but isn`t a rustbucket that needs thousands of dollars worth of panel replacement. Just typical bodywork for a car of this age.
