Vehicle Detail
The 1997 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo is a very rare vehicle - only 1,048 of the Turbo edition were ever imported into the United States. It's the last air-cooled edition built. Per Wikipedia: "993 Turbo models, because of raw power, reliability and their nature as the final air-cooled 911 Turbo cars still command a massive premium." I have owned this particular car since 1998, at which time I purchased it with roughly 1000 miles on the odometer. I'm absolutely in love with the car, deeply appreciating the innovation and quality of design and build poured into the vehicle, and I certainly never thought I'd sell it, but with three kids and a cross-country move coming up, my wife finally convinced me. :) Feature-wise, the paint color is Guards Red, so people will definitely see you coming. The interior is black leather with aluminum accents (gauge faces, shifter, Turbo-style kick plates) and black carpeting and carpeted floor mats. The transmission is the six-speed manual (and the shifter is absolutely the smoothest I've ever operated). Several years ago, I had the suspension professionally upgraded and lowered for improved handling and better ride quality. I also replaced the stock audio system (which is poor by today's standards) with an ultra-high-end system, including very high quality high-power amps, an Alpine head unit and a subwoofer mounted under the driver's side rear seat. The system incorporates full iPhone integration to enable music on the phone to be navigated and played through the system as well as bluetooth hands-free phone support. All of this work is reversible if desired. The car is in excellent condition - I've definitely driven it, but I've also taken great care of it, and all systems work properly. I recently replaced all of the HVAC servos (as well as other parts of the HVAC system), when one servo started to fail, so the HVAC system is in brand-new condition. I also just had a major maintenance service on the vehicle. When I originally took possession, I had clear protective film installed in all the key areas of the body to protect the paint and glass. It drives phenomenally - very much the same as the day I took possession - uncanny throttle response and acceleration (0-60 mph in 3.9s, top speed of approximately 195 mph) aided by the four-wheel-drive and sophisticated traction system. It has always been in a smoke-free environment. NOTE: if you use Autocheck to verify the history of the vehicle, you'll see that they list the odometer at 115,000 miles. It's incorrect - the mileage is 53,278, as indicated above and shown in the photos. CarFax already corrected the error, but Autocheck has not. This error was the result of an emission check station attendant incorrectly hand-entering the odometer reading. I very much hope that the person who purchases my car loves it and enjoys driving it as much as I have!
