Vehicle Detail
This 1959 Austin Healey “Bugeye” Sprite was purchased in 1966 in Arizona and has always been an Arizona car therefore it has no rust. Originally used as a second car to go to college at Arizona State University or to be driven by whichever one of us who had the longest drive due to the great gas mileage. This is an unrestored car that runs and drives smooth. It was painted and reupholstered in 1980. About mid 1980’s it was retired from a daily driver and became a fun car and went to and participated in shows and rallies in the Western United States. The car is still original except for things that wear out and need to be replaced. It has 90,109 miles on the original 948cc motor, ribbed case transmission installed 1969. It has been continuously registered and insured for 47 years in Arizona having only 1 owner during that time. The top is like new and it has the side curtains that came with it, not the sliding plastic window replacements that so many have. This “Little” Sprite was featured in British Car Magazine as the result of one of the rallies that it participated in and is waiting to share many years of fun with you. I have added some pictures of the top, side curtains and undercarriage that shows alot of the original sprayed on protection.
